Abstract

ABSTRACT Writing skill difficulties are one of the most significant problems that affect not only native English speakers, but also hundreds of students that are learning English as a second or foreign language around the world includes in Indonesia. Based on result of interviewed, the researcher found some problems in teaching writing at MAN 1 Liwa Lampung Barat. The English teacher said that the students difficulties in developing their ideas in writing ability, and the students also difficulies in arranging the sentences while writing because the students lack vocabulary, grammar, and the students had low motivation during the teaching and learning process. It means that the teacher need an appropriate media in teaching writing. The aimd of this study is to know the influence of using Google Doc feature in Google Classroom application towards students Writing Narrative text as one of materials at the tenth grade.This study designed as an experimental study. In this research the researcher took 61 students as the sample. 31 students for experimental class and 30 students to control class. To collected the data this research was used pre test and post test to measure students writing narrative text ability by used Google Docs. Media this research chosen Google Doc feature in Google Classroom as a media in teaching writing. Then, the data were analyzed by using quantitative method. After collecting and calculating the data, the researcher found It could be seen from the mean in pre-test score of control class was 53.43 and in the post-test was 61.53 while the mean of pre-test score of experimental class was 54.55 and in the post-test was 71.77. It means that the most improvement was in the experimental class in Hypothesis test , the researcher used t-test formula . The researcher found that the value of significant generated Sig. (ρvalue) = 0.000 < α = 0.05. So, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Based on the computation, it can be concluded that there was significant influence of using Google Docs feature in Google Classroom aplication towards students ability in writing narrative text at tenth grade of MAN 1 Liwa Lampung Barat in the academic year of 2021/2022.
