Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini berjudul ―Peran Pustakawan pada Layanan Referensi di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Bandar Lampung‖. Fokus peneliti pada penelitian ini adalah peran pustakawan pada layanan referensi di Dinas Perpustakaan Kearsipan Kota Bandar Lampung. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat bagaimana peran pustakawan di layanan referensi di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Bandar Lampung dan apa kendala yang dialami pustakawan pada proses layanan referensi di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deksriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini menjelaskan tentang fenomena yang terjadi, intruksi dari penelitian ini adalah teknik pengumpulan data dengan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Serta teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data/data display dan menarik kesimpulan. Untuk uji keabsahan data dalam penelitian menggunakan triangulasi sumber dengan maksud untuk mengecek kembali data yang sudah diperoleh melalui waktu dan alat yang berbeda. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah dua pustakawan dan satu pemustaka di layanan referensi. Berdasarakan hasil penelitian dan analisis data yang telah di lakukan, peran pustakawan pada layanan referensi di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Bandar Lampung sudah terlaksana dengan baik dan dapat dilihat dari pelaksanaan fungsi layanan referensi, fungsi tersebut terdiri dari fungsi informasi yaitu sebagai penelusuran informasi, fungsi bimbingan koleksi yaitu sebagai pembimbing untuk bisa menunjukkan cara menggunakan layanan referensi yang baik dan benar, fungsi pengarahan/petunjuk yaitu untuk sebagai pengarahan bagi pemustaka , fungsi supervisi dan fungsi bibliografis. Adapun kendala pada layanan referensi di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Bandar Lampung adalah keterbatasan ruangan untuk penyimpanan koleksi referensi, kurangnya rak penyimpanan koleksi referensi dan kurangnya penambahan listrik dan internet pada proses layanan referensi di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kota Bandar Lampung. Jadi iv untuk bisa meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan referensi perlunya didukung fasilitas yang lengkap dan ruangan yang memadai sehingga bisa menyimpan banyak koleksi bahan pustaka di layanan referensi dan pemustaka juga bisa mendapatkan informasi yang dibutuhkan jika koleksi referensi lengkap. Kata Kunci: Peran Pustakawan, Layanan Referensi, Perpustakaan Umum v ABSTRACT This study is entitled "The Role of Librarians in Reference Services at the Library and Archives Service of Bandar Lampung City". The focus of the researcher in this study is the role of librarians in reference services at the Library and Archives Service of Bandar Lampung City. The purpose of this study is to see how the role of librarians in reference services at the Library and Archives Service of Bandar Lampung City and what obstacles are experienced by librarians in the reference service process at the Library and Archives Service of Bandar Lampung City. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. This study explains the phenomena that occur, the instructions of this study are data collection techniques with observation, interview and documentation methods. As well as data analysis techniques using data reduction, data presentation/data display and drawing conclusions. To test the validity of the data in the study using source triangulation with the intention of re-checking the data that has been obtained through different times and tools. The informants in this study were two librarians and one librarian in the reference service. Based on the results of research and data analysis that have been carried out, the role of librarians in reference services at the Bandar Lampung City Library and Archives Service has been carried out well and can be seen from the implementation of reference service functions, these functions consist of information functions, namely as information searches, collection guidance functions, namely as guides to be able to show how to use reference services properly and correctly, direction/instruction functions, namely as direction for users, supervision functions and bibliographic functions. The obstacles to reference services at the Bandar Lampung City Library and Archives Service are limited space for storing reference collections, lack of storage shelves for reference collections and lack of additional electricity and internet in the reference service process at the Bandar Lampung City Library and Archives Service. So to be able to improve the quality of reference services, it is necessary to be vi supported by complete facilities and adequate space so that it can store many collections of library materials in reference services and users can also get the information they need if the reference collection is complete.
