Abstract

Kata kunci: Berpikir Kritis, Model Project Based Learning, STEM ABSTRACT Learning in the 21st century, students are required to have higher thinking skills. However, the fact in the field is that critical thinking in students is still quite low, students are less active in learning and learning only focuses on the teacher. There needs to be a solution in the learning process that can increase learning activities. Learning models and approaches that can involve students actively in learning so that learning becomes interactive. One model that can be applied is the STEM-based Project Based Learning model. The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not there was an influence of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)-based Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on students' critical thinking skills. This study is a quantitative study using the quasi-experimental method with a posttest only group design research design. The sample used in this study was students of class X IPA 3 as the experimental class and X IPA 1 as the control class. The data collection technique used was a test and documentation. Hypothesis testing used the independent sample t-test. After the analysis was carried out, the results of the independent sample t-test showed a p-value of 0.00 <0.05 or tcount> ttable 4.740> 1.666, meaning that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Project based learning (PjBL) model based on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) on students' critical thinking skills.
