Abstract

ABSTRACT - - perspective of , H M “M , S , S ” . of these verses affects women's self-perception and body image in a broader social context. Through analysis of Tafsir al-Munir and a social psychology approach, this study reveals that the interpretation of these verses often leads to social constructions that shape norms and behaviors that are internalized by religious norms. Mead's theory is used to analyze the interaction between individuals and society in shaping body image. This research is classified into qualitative library research with descriptive maudu'I method and content analysis. The results showed that the concept of women's body purity emphasizes the importance of maintaining purity through behavior and appearance by using clothes that cover the aurat (jilbab) and in accordance with Islamic teachings. This includes keeping the gaze and maintaining honor. Religious interpretations not only influence individuals' perceptions of their bodies, but also play a role in shaping social identities and social interactions. This research provides insight into how religious values and social norms interact in shaping women's body image and offers a new perspective in understanding these dynamics through the lens of social psychology.
