Abstract

ABSTRACT THE INFLUENCE OF USING PICTURE SEQUENCE TOWARD STUDENTS’ ABILITY IN WRITING PROCEDURE TEXT AT THE EIGHTH GRADERS OF MTs AL-MUBAROK IN ACADEMIC YEAR OF2021/2022 By Lastri Handayani The objective of the research is to know whether there is the influence of using Picture Sequence towards students’ ability in writing procedure text at the eighth grade of MTs Al-Mubarok Bandar Mataram in the academic year 2021/2022. In writing the students of Junior High School must deal with many kind of text which one of them is procedure text. The students still don’t know how express their ideas in writing form; the students cannot arrange procedure text in a good order. Picture Sequence can help the teacher to teach students how to write in right way and also improve cooperation among students. This research was conducted by using quasi experimental design with pre-test and post-test design. The population of this research was the eighth grade of MTs Al-Mubarok Bandar Mataram. The sample of this research was taken from two classes, VIII A as the control class and VIII B as the experimental class. They were 33 students for control class and 33 students for experiment class. In collecting the data, the researcher used writing test as the instruments. After giving the post-test, the researcher analyzed the data by using independent sample t-test. From the data analysis, it was found out the result of Sig (Pvalue) = 0.000 and α = 0.05. It means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. it can be concluded that there was significant influence of using picture sequence towards students’ ability in writing procedure text at the eighth grade of MTS Al-Mubarok Bandar Mataram in the academic year 2021/2022 Keywords: Picture Sequence, Writing, Procedure Text, Quasi Experimental Design
