Abstract

ABSTRAK Self Awareness dinilai menjadi hal yang sangat penting yang harus dimiliki setiap individu, khususnya siswa sebagai pelajar. Self Awareness atau sering disebut kesadaran diri, merupakan tingkat kesediaan individu untuk mengenali dirinya sendiri dan memahami kemampuannya. Namun yang terjadi di sekolah MTs N 4 Lampung Selatan terdapat siswa yang belum memahami tentang keadaan dirinya, emosi diri, dan kemampuan diri sehingga perlu ada upaya untuk meningkatkan Self Awareness dengan memberikan konseling menggunakan pendekatan client centered therapy. Penelitian ini bertujuan yaitu untuk mengetahui efektifitas konseling dengan pendekatan client centered therapy dapat meningkatkan self awareness pada siswa kelas VII MTs N 4 Lampung Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Pre-Experimental dengan desain One Group Pre-Test-Post-Test Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII berjumlah 115 siswa. Adapun sampel berjumlah 35 siswa. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan Cluster Random Sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket, observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi. Sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas dan t-test dan untuk mengukur besaran peningkatan menggunakan Uji N-gain Score. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, diperoleh bahwa terdapat perbedaan tingkat self awareness siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan konseling client centered therapy. Kemudian dilakukan uji t-test dan diperoleh nilai sig p = < 0.001 yang berarti lebih kecil dari alpha 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dan tabel uji-t di atas diperoleh nilai thitung > ttabel = -23.246 > 2.032, sehingga hipotesis dalam penelitian diterima dengan taraf signifikasi p = 0,001 < 0,05 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa konseling dengan Client Centered Therapy efektif untuk meningkatkan Self Awareness siswa kelas VII di MTs N 4 Lampung Selatan. Dengan kriteria uji N-Gain berada pada 0.55. Ini artinya menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tersebut memiliki efektivitas yang sedang atau terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan tetapi tidak tinggi. menunjukkan bahwa pemberian perlakuan konseling client centered therapy yang digunakan telah memberikan peningkatan self awareness yang signifikan, meskipun tidak secara maksimal. Kata Kunci: Konseling Client Centered Therapy, Self Awarenes. ABSTRACT Self Awareness is considered to be a very important thing that every individual, especially students as students, must have. Self Awareness or often called self-awareness, is the level of willingness of an individual to recognize himself and understand his or her abilities. However, what happened at MTs N 4 South Lampung school was that there were students who did not understand their own state, emotions, and abilities, so there needed to be an effort to increase Self Awareness by providing counseling using a client-centered therapy approach. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of counseling with a client-centered therapy approach can increase self�awareness in grade VII MTs N 4 South Lampung students. This study uses the Pre-Experimental method with the One Group Pre-Test-Post�Test Design design. The population in this study is all grade VII students totaling 115 students. The sample amounted to 35 students. Sample selection uses Cluster Random Sampling. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique uses normality test and t-test and to measure the amount of improvement using the N-gain Score Test. Based on the results of the research conducted, it was found that there was a difference in the level of self-awareness of students before and after being given client centered therapy counseling treatment. Then a t-test was carried out and a sig p = < value of 0.001 was obtained, which means it is smaller than alpha 0.05. Based on the results of the calculation and the t-test table above, the t-count value > ttable = -23,246 > 2,032, so that the hypothesis in the study is accepted with a significance level p = 0.001 < 0.05, then it can be concluded that counseling with Client Centered Therapy is effective in increasing Self Awareness of grade VII students at MTs N 4 South Lampung. With the N-Gain test criteria at 0.55. This means that the treatment has moderate effectiveness or there is significant effectiveness but not high. shows that the provision of Client Centered Therapy counseling treatment used has provided a significant increase in self-awareness, although not optimally.
