Abstract

ABSTRAK Kemampuan mathematical reasoning merupakan suatu kecakapan dalam penggunaan kaidah-kaidah, sifat-sifat atau penalaran matematika untuk memperoleh sebuah kesimpulan yang tepat. Kemampuan mathematical reasoning peserta didik dapat dikembangkan, bisa melalui peserta didik itu sendiri atau bimbingan dari guru sebagai fasilitator. Kemampuan thinking creatively juga bisa ditafsirkan sebagai suatu kegiatan penalaran atau berfikir untuk mendapatkan gagasan atau ide baru melalui kekreativitasannya dalam bernalar mengenai suatu persoalan yang dimana persoalan tersebut akan diselesaikan dengan berbagai kemungkinan jawaban atau bermacam�macam solusi. Saat pelaksanaan penelitian dilakukan keadaan yang benar-benar terjadi, menumbuhkan kemampuan mathematical reasoning dan thinking creatively peserta didik tidak mudah bagi sebagian peserta didik, terutama peserta didik yang kurang atau belum mempunyai keterampilan dalam menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan yang dihadapkannya. Karena itu, peneliti tertarik dan bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari penerapan model pembelajaran POGIL (Process Oriented Guided Inqury Learning) dengan pendekatan active learning tipe index card match terhadap kemampuan mathematical reasoning dan thinking creatively. Desain quasy experimental pada penelitian ini terdiri dari kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Penerapan model pembelajaran POGIL dengan pendekatan active learning tipe index card match dilakukan pada kelas eksperimen dan penerapan model pembelajaran konvensional diterapkan pada kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Sampel pada penelitian ini merupakan peserta didik kelas VIII B dan VIII D di SMPN 1 Jati Agung. Pengumpulan data yang dilaksanakan melalui tes kemampuan mathematical reasoning dan tes kemampuan thinking creatively. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh dari penerapan model POGIL (Process Oriented Guided Inqury Learning) dengan pendekatan active learning tipe index card match terhadap kemampuan mathematical reasoning dan thinking creatively. Kata Kunci: Model Pembelajaran POGIL, Pendekatan Index Card Match, Mathematical Reasoning, Thinking Creatively. iii ABSTRACT Mathematical reasoning ability is a skill in using mathematical rules, properties or reasoning to obtain the right conclusion. Students' mathematical reasoning abilities can be developed, either through the students themselves or guidance from the teacher as a facilitator. The ability to think creatively can also be interpreted as a reasoning or thinking activity to get new ideas or ideas through creativity in reasoning about a problem where the problem will be solved with various possible answers or various solutions. When the research was carried out, the situation that actually occurred, developing students' mathematical reasoning and creative thinking abilities was not easy for some students, especially students who lacked or did not have the skills to solve a problem they were faced with. Therefore, researchers are interested and aim to determine the effect of implementing the POGIL (Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning) learning model with an index card match type active learning approach on mathematical reasoning and creative thinking abilities. The quasi experimental design in this research consisted of an experimental class and a control class. The application of the POGIL learning model with an active learning approach using the index card match type was carried out in the experimental class and the application of the conventional learning model was applied to the control class. This research is quantitative research. The sample in this study were students from class VIII B and VIII D at SMPN 1 Jati Agung. Data collection was carried out through mathematical reasoning ability tests and creative thinking ability tests. The results of this research show that there is an influence from the application of the POGIL (Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning) model with an index card match type active learning approach on mathematical reasoning and creative thinking abilities.
