Abstract

ABSTRAK Salah satu tuntutan abad 21 adalah memiliki keterampilan literasi sains. Permasalahan pembelajaran saat ini berdampak pada rendahnya literasi sains dan self confidence peserta didik, diperlukan pendekatan yang mampu menghubungkan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, dan masyarakat. Literasi sains dan self confidence peserta didik kelas VII di SMPN 29 Bandar Lampung masih tergolong rendah, hal ini didukung dari hasil pra penelitian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa pengaruh pendekatan STEAM-R terhadap literasi sains dan self confidence kelas VII pada mata pelajaran IPA Biologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah quasi experimental design dengan the matching only pretest-postest control group design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VII sebanyak 9 kelas yang berjumlah 272 peserta didik. Sampel penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling diperoleh kelas VII.1 sebanyak 30 peserta didik sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan diterapkan pendekatan STEAM-R dan kelas VII.6 sebanyak 32 peserta didik sebagai kelas kontrol dengan diterapkan pendekatan saintifik. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes berbentuk multiple choice, angket dan lembar observasi. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan uji multivariate melalui aplikasi SPSS versi 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan STEAM-R berpengaruh terhadap literasi sains dan self confidence. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil uji multivariate literasi sains menunjukkan sig. 0,00 < α (0,05) dan self confidence sig. 0,00 < α (0,05), maka ditolak dan diterima. Kesimpulannya yaitu (1) Terdapat pengaruh pendekatan STEAM-R terhadap literasi sains kelas VII pada mata pelajaran IPA Biologi (2) Terdapat pengaruh pendekatan STEAM-R terhadap self confidence kelas VII pada mata pelajaran IPA Biologi (3) Terdapat pengaruh pendekatan STEAM-R terhadap literasi sains dan self confidence kelas VII pada mata pelajaran IPA Biologi. Current learning problems have a low impact scientific literacy and students' self-confidence, an approach is needed that is able to connect science, technology and society. The scientific literacy and self-confidence of class VII students at SMPN 29 Bandar Lampung are still relatively low, this is supported by pre-research results. This research aims to analyze the influence of the STEAM-R approach on scientific literacy and self-confidence in class VII in Biology Science subjects. This research uses a quantitative type of research. The approach used is a quasi experimental design with the matching only pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study was all 9 class VII students, totaling 272 students. The research sample was obtained using the cluster random sampling technique, with 30 students from class VII.1 as the experimental class using the STEAM�R approach and 32 students from class VII.6 as the control class using the scientific approach. The instruments used were multiple choice tests, questionnaires and observation sheets. The collected data was analyzed using multivariate tests via the SPSS version 26 application. The research results show that applying the STEAM-R approach has an effect on scientific literacy and self-confidence. This can be seen from the results of the multivariate scientific literacy test showing sig. 0.00 < α (0.05) and self-confidence Sig. 0.00 < α (0.05), then is rejected and is accepted. The conclusions are (1) There is an influence of the STEAM-R approach on class VII scientific literacy in Biology science subjects (2) There is an influence of the STEAM-R approach on class VII self-confidence in Biology science subjects (3) There is an influence of the STEAM-R approach on scientific literacy and self-confidence for class VII in Biology science subjects.
