Abstract

ABSTRACT The Relationship Between Self-Efficacy and Perceptions of Parental Expectations and Decision Making in Determining College Majors for High School Students By : Rina Annisya As time goes by and current developments, making the decision to determine a major is one of the developmental tasks that must be fulfilled by a student or prospective student. In this case, the decision to choose a major has a positive relationship with the achievement of self-identity. One of the internal factors in decision making is Self Efficacy. Apart from internal factors, there are external factors that can influence decision making, one of which is the family. This research aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and perceptions of parental expectations and decision making in determining college majors among high school students. The population in this study was 332 class XII students at SMAN 07 Bandar Lampung. This research used a quantitative method with a sampling technique, namely the cluster random sampling technique, then 96 students were obtained as samples. The data collection technique in this research used a decision making scale totaling 27 items (α = 0.930), a self efficacy scale totaling 25 items (α = 0.918), and a perception scale towards parental expectations totaling 24 items (α = 0.893). The analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis assisted by JASP 16 software. The research results can be seen from the value of R = 0.555, R square = 0.308 with a significance level of > 0.01, which means that the higher the self-efficacy and perception of parents' expectations, the higher the decision making in determining college majors for high school students. And conversely, the lower the self-efficacy and perception of parental expectations, the lower the decision making in determining college majors for high school students. Looking at the R Square value, self-efficacy and perceptions of parents' expectations have an influence of 30.8% on decision making to determine a major and 69.2% are influenced by other factors. Keywords: Decision Making in Determining Major, Self-Efficacy, Perception of Parental Expectations.ABSTRAK Hubungan Antara Self Efficacy Dan Persepsi Terhadap Harapan Orang Tua Dengan Pengambilan Keputusan Menentukan Jurusan Kuliah Pada Siswa SMA Oleh : Rina Annisya Seiring berjalannya waktu dan perkembangan saat ini, pengambilan keputusan menentukan jurusan merupakan salah satu tugas perkembangan yang harus dipenuhi oleh seorang siswa atau calon mahasiswa. Dalam hal ini keputusan memilih jurusan mempunyai hubungan positif terhadap pe ncapaian atas identitas diri. Faktor Internal dari pengambilan keputusan salah satunya yaitu Self Efficacy. Selain faktor internal, terdapat faktor eksternal yang dapat mempengaruhi pengambilan keputusan salah satunya yaitu keluarga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara self efficacy dan persepsi terhadap harapan orang tua dengan pengambilan keputusan menentukan jurusan kuliah pada siswa SMA. Populasi dalam penelitian ini merupakan siswa/i kelas XII SMAN 07 Bandar Lampung sebanyak 332 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu teknik cluster random sampling kemudian didapatkan 96 siswa/I sebagai sampel. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan skala pengambilan keputusan berjumlah 27 aitem (α = 0,930), skala self efficacy berjumlah 25 aitem (α = 0,918), dan skala persepsi terhadap harapan orang tua berjumlah 24 aitem (α = 0,893). Teknik analisis yang digunakan yaitu analisis regresi berganda dibantu dengan software JASP 16. Hasil penelitian dapat dilihat dari nilai R = 0.555 , R square = 0.308 dengan taraf signifikan > 0,01 yang artinya semakin tinggi self efficacy dan persepsi terhadap harapan otang tua maka akan semakin tinggi pengambilan keputusan menentukan jurusan kuliah pada siswa SMA. Dan sebaliknya semakin rendah self efficacy dan persepsi terhadap harapan orang tua maka akan semakin rendah pengambilan keputusan menentukan jurusan kuliah yang dimiliki pada siswa SMA. Melihat nilai R Square maka self efficacy dan persepsi terhadap harapan orang tua memiliki pengaruh sebesar 30,8% terhadap pengambilan keputusan menentukan jurusan dan 69,2% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain.
