Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Discovery Learning Tipe Poe (Prediction, Observation, and Explanation) Terhadap Pemahaman Konsep Matematis dan Self Confidence Ditinjau Dari Kemandirian Belajar Siswa. Bersumber dari hasil pra penelitian yang menginformasikan bahwa pemahaman konsep matematis siswa masih rendah, kurangnya partisipasi siswa, dan proses pembelajaran masih menggunakan model konvensional. Teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan uji SEM (Structural Equation Model) dan jenis penelitiannya menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan menyebarkan kuesioner self confidence dan kemandirian belajar bersifat tertutup dengan skala likert 1 sampai 4 yaitu selalu (SS), setuju (S), tidak setuju (ST), sangat tidak setuju (STS). Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes pemahaman konsep matematis dan angket self confidence dan kemandirian belajar. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu seluruh kelas VII SMP Pelita Cabang Empat. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Cluster Random Sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas (VII-A) sebagai kelas eksperimen menggunakan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning Tipe Poe (Prediction, Observation, and Explanation) sedangkan kelas (VII-B) sebagai kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu (1) Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan mengaplikasikan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning Tipe POE terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis. (2) Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan mengaplikasikan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning Tipe POE terhadap self confidence. (3) Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan mengaplikasikan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning Tipe POE terhadap kemandirian belajar (4) Tidak terdapat interaksi yang signifikan mengaplikasikan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning Tipe POE dan kemandirian belajar terhadap pemahaman konsep dan self confidence. Kata kunci: Discovery Learning tipe POE (Prediction, Observation, and Explanation), Pemahaman konsep matematis, Self Confidence, Kemandirian Belajar. iii ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of Discovery Learning Model Type Poe (Prediction, Observation, and Explanation) on Understanding Mathematical Concepts and Self Confidence in View of Student Learning Independence. Sourced from the results of pre�research which informs that students' understanding of mathematical concepts is still low, lack of student participation, and the learning process still uses conventional models. The data analysis technique in this study uses the SEM (Structural Equation Model) test and the type of research uses quantitative methods by distributing self-confidence questionnaires and closed learning independence with a Likert scale of 1 to 4, namely always (SS), agree (S), disagree (ST), strongly disagree (STS). The instruments used are mathematical concept understanding tests and self confidence and learning independence questionnaires. The population in this study were all seventh grade Pelita Junior High School Cabang Empat. The sampling technique in this study used Cluster Random Sampling. The sample in this study was class (VII-A) as an experimental class using the Discovery Learning Type Poe (Prediction, Observation, and Explanation) learning model while class (VII-B) as a control class using a conventional learning model. The results of this study are (1) There is a significant effect of applying the Discovery Learning Type POE learning model on understanding mathematical concepts. (2) There is a significant effect of applying the Discovery Learning Type POE learning model on self�confidence. (3) There is a significant effect of applying the Discovery Learning Type POE learning model on learning independence (4) There is no significant interaction of applying the Discovery Learning Type POE learning model and learning independence on concept understanding and self confidence.
