Abstract

ABSTRAK Self confidence (kepercayaan diri) adalah aspek kepribadian yang berisi keyakinan tentang kekuatan, kemampuan, dan ketrampilan yang dimilikinya sehingga memiliki kemandirian, berfikir positif, dapat mencurahkan pemikirannya dan mempunyai kemampuan untuk memiliki serta mencapai segala sesuatu yang diinginkan. Kemampuan komunikasi matematis merupakan suatu kemampuan siswa dalam menyampaikan sesuatu yang diketahuinya melalui peristiwa dialog atau saliing hubungan yang terjadi di lingkungan kelas, dimana terjadi pengalihan pesan. Pemahaman konsep matematis adalah penguasaan sejumlah materi pembelajaran, dimana siswa tidak sekedar mengenal dan mengetahui, tetapi mampu meingungkapkan kembali konseip dalam bentuk yang lebih mudah dimengerti serta mampu mengaplikasikannya. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah bertujuan untuk mengetahui self confidence terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis serta dampanya dalam pemahaman konsep matematis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian lapangan (metode stratified random sampling). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 5 Bandar Lampung. Sampel penelitian siswa kelas VIII.1 sebagai kelas uji coba dan kelas VII.1-VII.4 SMP Negeri 5 Bandar Lampung sebagai kelas sempel. Instrumen sudah melalui uji kelayakan dalam pengumpulan data. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket self confidence, serta tes kemampuan komunikasi matemtais dan pemahaman konsep matematis. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh kesimpulan, (1) terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara self confidence terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis, (2) terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara self confidence terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis, (3) terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara pemahaman konsep matematis terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis, (4) terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara self confidence terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis melalui pemahaman konsep matematis. Kata Kunci : Self Confidence, Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis, Pemahaman Konsep Matematis iii ABSTRACT Confidence (self-confidence) is an aspect of personality that contains confidence regarding the strength, abilities and skills that one has so that one has self-confidence, positive thinking, can share one's thoughts and has the ability to have one's self-confidence. He achieved everything he wanted. Mathematical communication ability is a student's ability to convey something that he knows through dialogue or mutual relations that occur in the classroom environment, where the exchange of messages occurs. Understanding mathematical concepts is the mastery of a number of learning materials, where students are not just memorizing and knowing, but are able to express the concept's results in a form that is more easily understood as well as being able to apply them. The aim of this research is to determine self-confidence in mathematical communication skills and its impact on understanding mathematical concepts. This research uses a quantitative approach with a type of field research (stratified random sampling method). The population in this study were all class VII students at SMP Negeri 5 Bandar Lampung. The research sample was students from class VIII.1 as a trial class and classes VII.1-VII.4 at SMP Negeri 5 Bandar Lampung as a sample class. The instrument has gone through a feasibility test in data collection. The instruments used were self-confidence questionnaires, as well as tests of mathematical communication skills and understanding of mathematical concepts. Analysis of the data in this study concluded, (1) there is a significant influence between self-confidence on mathematical communication skills, (2) there is a significant influence between self�confidence on understanding mathematical concepts, (3) there is a significant influence between understanding mathematical concepts on mathematical communication abilities , (4) there is a significant influence between self-confidence on mathematical communication skills through understanding mathematical concepts.
