Abstract

ABSTRAK Permasalahan dalam proses pembelajaran memiliki banyak faktor, salah satunya yaitu rendahnya pemahman konsep matematis peserta didik. Berdasarkan hasil pra penelitian menunjukan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik masih tergolong rendah. Hal ini dapat dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor seperti model pembelajaran yang kurang bervariasi dan gaya kognitif peserta didik yang berbeda beda. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menerapkan teori Van Hiele untuk mengatasi rendahnya pemahaman konsep matematis ditinjau dari gaya kognitif peserta didik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui : pengaruh penerapan teori Van Hiele terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis, pengaruh gaya kognitif field independent dan field dependent terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan interaksi antara teori Van Hiele dengan gaya kognitif terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan jenis penelitian Quasi Experiment Design. Dengan menetapkan populasi seluruh peserta didik kelas IX di SMP Negeri 2 Jatiagung. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Untuk mengumpulkan data menggunakan instrumen tes untuk mengukur kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan instrumen tes GEFT ( Group Embedded Figure Test) untuk mengukur gaya kognitif peserta didik. teknik analisis data menggunakan uji Anova dua jalur dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil analisis didapatkan terdapat perbedaan pengaruh antara penerapan teori Van Hiele dengan model pembelajaran ekspositori terhadap kemampuan pemhaman konsep matematis Sehingga tidak terdapat interaksi antara penerapan teori Van Hiele dengan gaya kognitif (field independent dan field dependent) terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Sehingga dari data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik menggunakan penerapan teori Van Hiele lebih baik dibandingkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik dengan model pembelajaran ekspositori. The purpose of this study is to find out: the influence of the application of Van Hiele theory on the ability to understand mathematical concepts, the influence of concepts, the influence of field independent and field dependent cognitive styles on the ability to understand mathematical concepts and the interaction between Van Hiele theory and cognitive style on the ability to understand mathematical concepts. The research uses a quantitative approach, with the type of Quasi Experiment Design research. By determining the population of all grade IX students at SMP Negeri 2 Jatiagung. Sampling in this study used cluster random sampling technique. To collect data using test instruments to measure the ability to understand mathematical concepts and GEFT (Group Embedded Figure Test) test instruments to measure the cognitive style of learners. data analysis technique using two-track Anova test with significance level of 5%. he analysis results showed so there is an influence of cognitive style (field independent and field dependent) on the ability to understand mathematical concepts. So there is no interaction between the application of Van Hiele's theory and cognitive style (field independent and field dependent) on the ability to understand mathematical concepts. So from these data it can be concluded that the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students using the application of Van Hiele theory is better than the ability to understand mathematical concepts of students using the expository learning model.
