Abstract

ABSTRAK Representasi matematis dalam pembelajaran matematika merupakan suatu kemampuan yang perlu dikuasi oleh setiap peserta didik guna menunjang dalam proses belajar dan menyelesaikan berbagai permasalahan matematika. Berdasarkan datayang dilihat dari hasil pra penelitian dan dari hasil wawancara dengan pendidik mata pelajaran matematika yang bersangkutan bahwa masih rendahnya representasi matematis dan lemahnya adversity quotient peserta didik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yakni guna mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP )dengan pendekatan open ended terhadap representasi matematis ditinjau dari adversity quotient peserta didik. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan quasi experimen design. Populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu seluruh peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 1 Metro, teknik pengambilan sampel dengan teknik acak kelas atau cluster random sampling. Sampel yang diperoleh yaitu kelas VIII-2 sebagai kelas eksperimen 1 dengan diterapkan model pembelajaran Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP ) dan kelas VIII-3 sebagai kelas eksperimen 2 dengan diterapkan model pembelajaran Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP ) dengan pendekatan open ended kelas VIII-1 sebagai kelas kontrol dengan diterapkan model pembelajaran discovery learning . Penelitian ini menggunakan uji hipotesis two way anova. Penelitian ini menyatakan hasil bahwa , (1) Terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP ) dengan pendekatan open ended terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis , (2) Terdapat pengaruh adversity quotient terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis, (3) Tidak terdapat interaksi model pembelajaran Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP ) dengan pendekatan open ended jika dilakukan bersamaan dengan adversity quotient terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis Kata kunci : Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP ) , open ended, kemampuan representasi matematis, adversity quotient. iv ABSTRACT Mathematical representation and adversity quotient in mathematics learning are abilities that need to be mastered by every student to support the learning process and solve various mathematical problems. Based on the data seen from the results of pre-research and from the results of interviews with the mathematics subject educators concerned, it is clear that mathematical representation is still low and students' adversity quotient is still weak. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model with an open ended approach on mathematical representation in terms of students' adversity quotient. This type of research uses a quasi experimental design. The population in this study was all class VIII students at SMPN 1 Metro, the sampling technique was class random or cluster random sampling. The samples obtained were class VIII-2 as experimental class 1 with the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model applied and class VIII-3 as experimental class 2 with the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model applied with an open ended approach for class VIII-1 as control class with the discovery learning model applied. This research uses a two way anova hypothesis test. This research shows the results that, (1) There is an influence of the Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning model with an open ended approach on mathematical representation abilities, (2) There is an influence of the adversity quotient on mathematical representation abilities, (3) There is no interaction with the Missouri Mathematics learning model Project (MMP) with an open ended approach if carried out in conjunction with an adversity quotient on mathematical representation abilities Keywords: Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP), open ended, mathematical representation ability, adversity quotient.
