Abstract

ABSTRAK Memecahkan masalah serta dapat merepresentasikan cara penyelesaian suatu permasalahan merupakan kemampuan yang harus dimiliki setiap individu. Berdasarkan pra penelitian yang sudah dilakukan, terlihat bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan representasi matematis peserta didik SMP Negeri 1 Mesuji Raya masih tergolong rendah, karena peserta didik masih belum sistematis dalam menjawab dengan tepat serta belum merepresentasikan dengan baik. Peneliti tertarik untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan representasi matematis dengan model pembelajaran Make A Match. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan model pembelajaran Make A Match terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan representasi matematis . Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian Quasi Eksperimental design dengan posttest-only control design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII 2 dan VIII 3 di SMP Negeri 1 Mesuji Raya. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang diterapkan adalah cluster random sampling dengan materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan representasi matematis. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji Manova dengan taraf signifikan 5% diperoleh (1) sehingga ditolak dengan kesimpulan terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik yang mendapat model make a match dibandingkan dengan model discovery learning (2) sehingga ditolak dengan kesimpulan terdapat perbedaan kemampuan representasi matematis peserta didik yang mendapat model make a match dibandingkan dengan model discovery learning (3) sehingga ditolak dengan kesimpulan terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan representasi matematis peserta didik yang mendapat model make a match dibandingkan dengan model discovery learning. Based on the pre-research that has been carried out, it appears that the problem solving and mathematical representation abilities of students at SMP Negeri 1 Mesuji Raya are still relatively low, because students are still not systematic in answering correctly and have not represented well. Researchers are interested in implementing a learning model that can improve problem solving abilities and mathematical representation with the Make A Match learning model. This research aims to determine the effect of the Make A Match learning model on problem solving abilities and mathematical representation. This research is a type of Quasi Experimental design research with a posttest-only control design. The sample in this research were students in class VIII 2 and VIII 3 at SMP Negeri 1 Mesuji Raya. The sampling technique applied was cluster random sampling with the material being a two-variable linear equation system. The instruments used in collecting data for this research were tests of problem solving abilities and mathematical representation. Hypothesis testing using the Manova test with a significance level of 5% obtained (1) so that is rejected with the conclusion that there was a difference in the problem solving abilities of students who received the make a match model compared to the discovery learning model (2) so that is rejected with the conclusion that there is a difference in the mathematical representation abilities of students who received the make a match model compared to the discovery learning model (3) so that is rejected with the conclusion that there are difference in the problem solving abilities and mathematical representation of students who received the make a match model compared to the discovery learning model.
