Abstract

ABSTRAK Kemampuan literasi sains siswa sejak tahun 2000 sampai dengan tahun 2018 yang di dapat di bawah skor rata-rata PISA. Permasalahan ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa indonesia tidak dapat memahami konsep tersebut dan proses ilmiah serta tidak mampu menerapkan pengetahuan ilmiah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat kemampuan literasi sains siswa pada materi perubahan lingkungan menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini 29 siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Kotaagung. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu soal tes terdiri dari 15 soal pilihan ganda. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa kemampuan literasi sains siswa rendah dengan hasil persentase 48%. Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa rendahnya kemampuan literasi sains siswa disebabkan karena siswa yang kurang fokus dan tidak memperhatikan saat pendidik menjelaskan sehingga materi yang disampaikan kurang dipahami. Kata Kunci : Discovery Learning, Kemampuan Literasi Sains Students' scientific literacy abilities from 2000 to 2018 were obtained below the PISA average score. This problem show that indonesian students can‟t understand these concepts and scientific processes and are unable to apply scientific knowledge in everyday life. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of students' scientific literacy skills in environmental change material using the discovery learning model. This research is a descriptive qualitative study, the subjects of this study were 29 grade X students at SMA Negeri 1 Kotaagung. The reseacrh instrument used was a test item consisting of 15 multiple choice questions. The results of the study found that students' scientific literacy skills were low with a percentage of 48%. Based on the results and discussion, it can be concluded that the low ability of students' scientific literacy is caused by students who are less focused and do not pay attention when the teacher explains so that the material presented is poorly understood.
