Abstract

ABSTRAK Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Predict Observe Explaint (POE) Terhadap Kemampuan Argumentasi dan Sikap Sosial Siswa Pada Mata Pelajaran Biologi Oleh Ely Sukmawati Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh pembelajaran Biologi yang kurang efektif. Dimana, proses belajar yang hanya terpusat pada pendidiknya (Teacher Centered Learning) akibatnya proses pembelajaran bersifat pasif dan kurang menekankan perhatian pada pembelajaran yang berbasis student center. Biologi harus bisa melibatkan peserta didik untuk aktif mencari informasi, mengkomunikasikan argumentasi, dan memahami konsep-konsep ilmiah yang dipelajarinya melalui pengalaman dan pengamatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Predict Observe Explaint terhadap kemampuan argumentasi dan sikap sosial siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode quasy eksperiment. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas XI IPA di MAN 1 Oku Timur. Sampel yang digunakan, kelas XI IPA2 sebagai kelas eksperiment dan XI IPA1 sebagai kelas kontrol yang diambil dengan teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes soal essay materi sistem peredaran darah, non tes dengan angket sikap sosial dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model Predict Observe Explaint terhadap kemampuan argumentasi dan sikap sosial siswa. Perbedaan kemampuan argumentasi kelas eksperiment 82% dan kelas kontrol 76% sedangkan untuk sikap sosial siswa kelas eksperiment 76% dan kelas kontrol 69%. Adanya pengaruh tersebut juga dibuktikan dengan uji hipotesis yang memperoleh 0.000 < 0.05 dengan demikian penelitian ini dapat iv dikatakan berhasil dan dapat menjawab rumusan masalah yang sudah ditentukan. Where, the learning process is only centered on the teacher (Teacher Centered Learning) as a result the learning process is passive and does not emphasize attention to student center-based learning. Biology must be able to involve students to actively seek information, communicate arguments, and understand scientific concepts they learn through experience and observation. This study aims to determine the effect of the Predict Observe Explaint model on students' argumentation abilities and social attitudes. The type of research used is quantitative with a quasy experimental method. The population in this study were all students of class XI IPA at MAN 1 Oku Timur. The samples used, class XI IPA2 as the experimental class and XI IPA1 as the control class were taken using the Cluster Random Sampling technique. The data collection technique used an essay test on the material of the circulatory system, non-test using a social attitude questionnaire and documentation. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of the Predict Observe Explaint model on students' argumentation abilities and social attitudes. Differences in the argumentation abilities of the experimental class were 82% and the control class were 76% while for the social attitudes of the experimental class students were 76% and the control class were 69%. The existence of this influence is also proven by hypothesis testing which obtains 0.000 <0.05, thus this research can be said to be successful and can answer the formulation of the problem that has been determined. vi Keywords: Argumentation Ability, Social Attitude, Circulation, Predict Observe Explaint
