Abstract

ABSTRAK Rendahnya pemahaman konsep matematis dan lemahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa manjadi permasalahan yang penting dalam pendidikan. Guru yang belum memvariasikan model pembelajaran juga ikut andil, sehingga matematika dianggap pelajaran yang sulit dan membosankan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat pengaruh model pembelajaran CORE berbasis brainstorming terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi pola bilangan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan ialah quasy experimental design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling, dimana kelas VIII 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan berupa tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil analisis data diuji menggunakan Multivariate Analysis Of Variance (Manova) menunjukan sig. maka ditolak dan diterima,disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) berbasis Brainstorming terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Nilai p-value pemahaman konsep matematis yaitu 0,000 maka ditolak dan diterima sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran CORE berbasis brainstorming dengan model konvensional terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Nilai p-value kemapuan berpikir kritis yaitu 0,000 maka ditolak dan diterima sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran CORE berbasis brainstorming dengan model konvensional terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis. Kata Kunci:Model Pembelajaran CORE, Berbasis Brainstorming, Pemahaman Konsep Matematis, dan Berpikir Kritis. iv ABSTRACT Students’ low understanding of mathematical concepts and weak critical thinking skills are important problems in education. Teachers who do not have a varied learning model also contribute to this, so that mathematics is consider a difficult and boring subject. The aim Of this research is to see the effect of the Core learning model based on brainstorming in improving students’ ability to understand mathematical concepts and critical thinking skilss in number pattern materials. The type of study used is a quasi experimental design. Sampling is carried out using a cluster random sampling technique, where class VIII 1 is the experimental class and class VIII 2 is the control class. Data collection techniques used are test, interviews, and documentation. The result of data analysis were tested using Multivariate Analysis Of Variance (Manova) which showed sig. maka rejected dan is accepted, it’s concluded that there is an influence of the CORE learning model based on brainstorming on students’ ability to understand mathematical concepts and critical thinking abilities. The p-value of mathematical concept understanding is 0,000 < , then is rejected and is accepted so it be concluded that there is influence of the CORE learning model based on brainstorming with the conventional model on the ability to understand mathematics. The p-value of critical thinking ability is 0,000 < , then is rejected and is accepted so it be concluded that there is influence of the CORE learning model based on brainstorming with the conventional model on the critical thinking skills.
