Abstract

ABSTRAK Hubungan Celebrity Worship dan Interaksi Teman Sebaya dengan Body Image pada Remaja Indonesia Oleh : Yusma Linda Remaja akan mengalami perubahan pada dirinya terutama pada bagian yang nampak yaitu bentuk tubuh. Apabila remaja merasa tubuh yang dimilikinya jauh dari standar ideal yang dimiliki maka akan menyebabkan rasa kekurangan di dalam dirinya. Rasa kekurangan ini menjadi penyebab seseorang memiliki body image yang negatif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara celebrity worship dan interaksi teman sebaya dengan body image pada remaja. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif non eksperimental dengan desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu one shot studi design. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengambilan sampel yaitu purposive sampling dengan karakteristik subjek yaitu remaja akhir usia 18-21 tahun, menyukai selebriti idola, dan bergabung dalam sebuah fandom. Responden yang digunakan berjumlah 101 remaja yang berasal dari berbagai wilayah di Indonesia. Hasil analisis regresi berganda menunjukkan bahwa R2 = 0.321, p<0,01, artinya celebrity worship dan interaksi teman sebaya secara simultan dapat memprediksi body image pada remaja. Mengacu pada hasil hipotesis, terdapat hubungan positif antara celebrity worship dengan body image sebesar 17.6% dengan koefisien β = 0.350, p<0.01. dan terdapat korelasi negatif antara interaksi teman sebaya dengan body image sebesar 11.3% dengan koefisien β = -0.276, p<0.01. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat celebrity worship, semakin positif citra tubuh, dan semakin tinggi tingkat interaksi teman sebaya, semakin rendah citra tubuh negatif. When adolescents think that their body didn’t meet the ideal standards, they feel insecure. This insecurity causes someone to have a negative body image. This research aimed to find out the correlation between celebrity worship and peer interaction with the adolescent body image. This research is non-experimental quantitative study with the one-shot-study design. The sampling technique was the purposive sampling with characteristics subject are 18-21 years old, have loved idols, and a member of fandoms. The number of respondents was 101 adolescents from various regions of Indonesia. The multiple regression analysis results showed that R 2 = 0.321, p<0.01, means celebrity worship and peer interaction could simultaneously predict the adolescent body images. Referring to the hypothesis results, there was a positive correlation between the celebrity worship and the body images with 17.6% with coefficient β = 0.350, p<0.01.and there was a negative correlation between the peer interaction and body images with 11.3% with coefficient β = -0.276, p<0.01.The results showed that higher the level of celebrity worship, the more positive the body image, and the higher the level of interaction, the less negative the body image.
