Abstract

ABSTRAK Fenomena pendidikan merupakan masalah penting dalam kehiduan karna pendidikan tidak dapat terlepas dari berbagai aktifitas yang terjadi dalam kehidupan. Kondisi pendidikan yang demikian, mendorong kita untuk membangun paradigma baru pendidikan yang tidak hanya berorientasi pada ilmu pengetahuan (knowledge oriented) dan keterampilan (skill oriented), namun juga berorientasi pada nilai (values oriented). Proses pendidikan yang mengedepankan akhlak serta beberapa petunjuk yang didapatkan dari para gurunya. Oleh karena hal inilah, studi ini akan mengkaji konsep pendidikan karakter yang ditawarkan oleh Thomas Lickona dan Imam al-Zarnuji. Karakter atau Akhlak memiliki peran penting pada saat ini, karena pada saat ini kita telahmenghadapi dan merasakan fenomena krisis moral. Untuk itu, pendidikan karakter hendaklah dimulai dari diri sendiri sehingga karakter yang baik timbul dari diri sendiri maka akan menyebar ke individu yang lainnya, kemudian setelah jumlah individu yang tercerahkan secara banyak maka dengan sendirinya karakter yang baik akan mewarnai masyarakat Penelitian ini termasuk dalam jenis penelitian kepustakaan (library research). Riset pustaka memanfaatkan umberper pustakaan untuk memperoleh data penelitiannya. Studi kepustakaan adalah teknik mengumpulkan data dengan mengadakan studi penelaahan terhadap buku-buku, literatur-literatur, catatan-catatan, dan laporan-laporan yang ada hubunganya dengan masalah yang dibahas. Riset pustaka membatasi kegiatannya hanya pada bahan-bahan koleksi perpustakaan saja tanpa memerlukan riset lapangan. Dari analisis penelitian ini maka dapat peneliti simpulkan bahwa Konsep pendidikan karakter menurut Thomas Lickona terbagi menjai 3 yaitu pengetahuan tentang moral (moral knowing), perasaan moral (moral feeling), dan perilaku moral (moral behaviour) . Berbeda dengan Imam Al-Zarnuji terbagi menjadi lima yaitu Akhlak siswa pada Allah SWT, Akhlak siswa terhadap diri sendiri, Akhlak siswa pada kepada guru, Akhlak siswa pada teman, dan Akhlak siswa kepada orang tua. Sedangkan perbedaan dan persamaan antara konsep pendidikan karakter menurut Imam Al-Zarnuji dan Thomas Lickona tidak terlalu signifikan. Pada perbedaanya konsep pendidikan karakter saat ini berorientasi pada pembentukan: Intellegent Quotient (IQ), dan Moral Quotient (MQ), sedangkan berdasarkan kitab Ta’limu muta’alim berorientasi pada pembentukan: Intellegent Quotient (IQ), Moral Quotient (MQ), Spiritual Qoutient (SQ), kebahagiaan dunia dan akhir. Sedangkan Persaaman antara keduanya yaitu berorientasi pada pembentukan mental. Kata kunci : Pendidikan Karakter, Thomas Lickona, Imam Al-Zarnuji. iv ABSTRACT The phenomenon of education is an important issue in life because education cannot be separated from various activities that occur in life.Such educational conditions encourage us to build a new paradigm of education that is not only knowledge oriented and skills oriented, but also values oriented.The educational process that prioritizes morals or book ethical values as well as some instructions obtained from the teachers.Because of this, this study will examine the concept of character education offered by Thomas Lickona and Imam al-Zarnuji. Character or morals have an important role at this time, because at this time we have faced and felt the phenomenon of moral crisis.For this reason, character education should start from oneself so that good character arises from oneself, it will spread to other individuals, then after a large number of individuals are enlightened, good character will naturally color society. This research is included in the type of library research (library research).Library research utilizes library resources to obtain research data.Literature study is a technique of collecting data by conducting a study of reviews of books, literature, records, and reports that are related to the problem being discussed.Library research limits its activities only to library collection materials without requiring field research. From the analysis , the researcher can conclude that the concept of character education by Thomas Lickona is divided into three (moral knowing), (moral feeling), (moral behaviour) and Imam Al-Zarnuji is divided into five, namely the morals of students to Allah SWT, the morals of students to themselves, the morals of students to the teacher, Student morals to friends, and Student morals to parents. Meanwhile, the differences and similarities between the concept of character education by Thomas Lickona and Imam Al-Zarnuji are located on the goal.The difference is that the current concept of character education is oriented towards the formation of: Intelligent Quotient (IQ), and Moral Quotient (MQ), while based on the book of Ta'limu muta'alim it is oriented towards the formation of: Intelligent Quotient (IQ), Moral Quotient (MQ), SpiritualQuoutient (SQ), the happiness of the world and the end.While the similarities between the two are oriented towards mental formation.
