Abstract

ABSTRAK Pembelajaran Biologi memerlukan model pembelajaran yang memiliki daya tarik untuk peserta didiknya sehingga dapat menunjang kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi atau Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) dan Self Regulation yang dimilikinya. Berdasarkan hasil pra penelitian yang dilakukan rendahnya kemampuan Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) dan Self Regulation peserta didik di SMA Negeri 2 Pringsewu dikarenakan proses pembelajaran yang belum mengembangkan kemampuan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Learning Cycle 9E terhadap Higher Order Thinking Skills dan Self Regulation pada mata pelajaran Biologi kelas X dengan materi Perubahan dan Pelestarian Lingkungan Hidup. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Quasy Experimental dengan desain penelitian Pretest-Postest Control Group. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Pringsewu, teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan Cluster Random Sampling dan didapatkan kelas X.8 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X.6 sebagai kelas kontrol. instrumen penelitian berupa soal tes Multiple Choise Higher Order Thinking Skills dan angket Self Regulation yang telah dilakukan uji validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran, dan daya beda sehingga instrument telah layak digunakan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan Model Learning Cycle 9E terhadap Higher Order Thinking Skills dan Self Regulation peserta didik dengan perolehan nilai Sig. 0,00 < 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil uji analisis data diperoleh kesimpulan yaitu : (1) Terdapat pengaruh model Learning Cycle 9E terhadap Higher Order Thinking Skills peserta didik sebesar 0,00 < 0,05 sehingga, variabel Y1 (Higher Order Thinking Skills) menunjukkan perbedaan pada variabel X (Perlakuan). (2) Terdapat pengaruh model Learning Cycle 9E terhadap Self Regulation peserta didik, sebesar 0,01 < 0,05 sehingga, variabel Y2 (Self Regulation) menunjukkan perbedaan pada variabel X (Perlakuan). (3) Terdapat interaksi antara model Learning Cycle 9E sangat signifikan dalam meningkatkan Higher Order Thinking Skills dan Self Regulation mata pelajaran Biologi kelas X. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari uji hipotesis yang memperoleh nilai Sig. 0,00 < 0,05 sehingga terdapat pengaruh model Learning Cycle 9E terhadap Higher Order Thinking Skills dan Self Regulation peserta didik secara bersama-sama. Kata Kunci : Higher Order Thinking Skills, Model Learning Cycle 9E, Perubahan dan Pelestarian Lingkungan Hidup, Self Regulation iv ABSTRACT Learning Biology requires a learning model that has an appeal to its students so that it can support its Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and Self Regulation. Based on the results of pre�research conducted, the low ability of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and Self Regulation of students at SMA Negeri 2 Pringsewu is due to the learning process which has not developed these abilities. This study aims to determine the effect of the 9E Learning Cycle model on Higher Order Thinking Skills and Self Regulation in Biology class X with the material on Environmental Change and Preservation. This study used the Quasy Experimental method with the Pretest-Postest Control Group research design. The population in this study were all students of class X SMA Negeri 2 Pringsewu, the sampling technique used Cluster Random Sampling and it was found that class X.8 was the experimental class and class X.6 was the control class. The research instrument was in the form of Multiple Choice Higher Order Thinking Skills test questions and a Self Regulation Questionnaire which had been tested for validity, reliability, level of difficulty, and differentiability so that the instrument was feasible to use. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant influence of the 9E Learning Cycle Model on students' Higher Order Thinking Skills and Self Regulation with the acquisition of Sig. 0.00 < 0.05. Based on the results of the data analysis test, it can be concluded that: (1) There is an influence of the Learning Cycle 9E model on students' Higher Order Thinking Skills of 0.00 <0.05 so that variable Y1 (Higher Order Thinking Skills) shows a difference in variable X (Treatment ). (2) There is an influence of the Learning Cycle 9E model on students' Self Regulation, amounting to 0.01 <0.05 so, variable Y2 (Self Regulation) shows a difference in variable X (Treatment). (3) There is an interaction between the Learning Cycle 9E model which is very significant in increasing Higher Order Thinking Skills and Self Regulation in Biology class X. This can be seen from the hypothesis test which obtained a Sig. 0.00 <0.05 so that there is an influence of the Learning Cycle 9E model on the Higher Order Thinking Skills and Self Regulation of students together.
