Abstract

ABSTRAK Salah satu tuntutan abad 21 adalah memiliki keterampilan literasi sains. Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Indonesia yang mengeluarkan peraturan No. 96 tahun 2013 yang menyatakan bahwa pendidikan sains di sekolah diharapkan dapat membentuk keterampilan literasi sains siswa menjadi tinggi. Literasi sains dan sikap peduli lingkungan siswa kelas VII di SMP N 2 Talang Padang rendah, hal ini didukung dari hasil prapenelitian. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan guru yang mengatakan bahwa model pembelajaran IPA Biologi yang digunakan adalah model Discovery Learning. Namun setelah peneliti melakukan observasi di kelas selama proses pembelajaran berlangsung, langkah-langkah dalam model Discovery Learning belum terlaksana dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Learning Cycle 9E terhadap Literasi Sains dan Sikap Peduli Lingkungan pada mata pelajaran IPA Biologi kelas VII. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Quasi Eksperimental Design dengan desain penelitian The Matching Only Pretest-Postest Control Group Design. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP N 2 Talang Padang dengan teknik sampling yaitu Cluster Random Sampling dan sampel penelitian sebanyak 2 kelas yaitu kelas VII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII C sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa soal literasi sains yang telah dilakukan uji validitas, reliabilitas tingkat kesukaran, dan daya beda dan angket untuk mengukur sikap peduli lingkungan yang telah dilakukan uji validitas dan reliabilitas sehingga instrumen telah layak digunakan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan Uji Multivariate (MANOVA) untuk melihat pengaruh model Learning Cycle 9E terhadap literasi sains dan sikap peduli lingkungan menggunakan SPSS versi 17. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model Learning Cycle 9E berpengaruh terhadap literasi sains dan sikap peduli lingkungan. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil uji Multivariate literasi sains menunjukkan sig 0,00 < α (0,05) dan sikap peduli lingkungan sig 0,00 < α (0,05), maka H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Kesimpulannya yaitu (1) Terdapat pengaruh model Learning Cycle 9E iv terhadap literasi sains siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA kelas VII (2) Terdapat pengaruh model Learning Cycle 9E terhadap sikap peduli lingkungan siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA kelas VII (3) Terdapat pengaruh model Learning Cycle 9E terhadap literasi sains dan sikap peduli lingkungan siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA Biologi kelas VII. Kata Kunci : Learning Cycle 9E, Literasi Sains, Pencemaran Lingkungan, Sikap Peduli Lingkungan v ABSTRACT One of the demands of the 21st century is having scientific literacy skills. The Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture issued regulation no. 96 of 2013 which states that science education in schools is expected to form students' scientific literacy skills to be high. The scientific literacy and environmental care attitude of class VII students at SMP N 2 Talang Padang is low, this is supported by pre-research results. Based on the results of interviews with teachers who said that the Biology Science learning model used was the Discovery Learning model. However, after the researchers made observations in class during the learning process, the steps in the Discovery Learning model had not been carried out properly. This study aims to determine the effect of the 9E Learning Cycle model on Scientific Literacy and Environmental Care Attitudes in class VII Science Biology subject. The research method used is Quasi Experimental Design with the Matching Only Pretest-Postest Control Group Design research design. The population in this study were all students of class VII SMP N 2 Talang Padang using the sampling technique, namely Cluster Random Sampling and 2 class samples, namely class VII A as the experimental class and class VII C as the control class. The research instrument was in the form of scientific literacy questions that had been tested for validity, difficulty level reliability, and differentiating power and a questionnaire to measure environmental care attitudes that had been tested for validity and reliability so that the instrument was feasible to use. Data analysis techniques used the Multivariate Test (MANOVA) to see the effect of the 9E Learning Cycle model on scientific literacy and environmental care attitudes using SPSS version 17. The results showed that the application of the 9E Learning Cycle model had an effect on scientific literacy and environmental care attitudes. This can be seen from the results of the Multivariate scientific literacy test showing sig 0.00 <α (0.05) and environmental care attitude sig 0.00 <α (0.05), then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The conclusion is (1) there is an influence of the 9E Learning Cycle model on students' scientific literacy in class VII vi science subjects (2) there is an influence of the 9E learning cycle model on students' environmental care attitude in class VII science subjects (3) there is an influence of the 9E learning cycle model towards scientific literacy and environmental care attitude of students in class VII Science Biology subject.
