Abstract

ABSTRACT The existence and role of Islamic banking in Indonesia has a significant role and impact. The existence of a prohibition on usury in carrying out activities in Islamic banking institutions regulated by Islam greatly motivates the activities of business life, especially in deciding to become a customer at a bank that is able to support economic activity and at the same time avoid usury. Syari'ah banks are an alternative to problem solving of the conflict between bank interest and usury. This study aims to determine the effect of motivation to avoid usury, service quality and knowledge of Islamic banking products on the decision to become a customer of Bank BSI" (a case study in the Bumi Asih Village community). This study uses a type of quantitative research. The type of data used in this study is primary data by distributing online and offline questionnaires. The population in this study were 993 people from Bumi Asih Village and the research sample was 100 people from Bumi Asih Village using a purposive sampling method. The data analysis method used is multiple linear regression using the IBM SPSS Version 21 program tool. The results of this study indicate that the motivation to avoid usury has a significant effect on the decision to become a customer of Bank BSI, meaning that increasing motivation to avoid usury in the Bumi Asih Village community can increase the decision to become a customer of Bank BSI. Service quality has a significant effect on the decision to become a customer of Bank BSI, meaning that the better the service quality of Bank BSI will increase the decision to become a customer of Bank BSI. Knowledge of sharia banking has a significant effect on the decision to become a customer of Bank BSI, meaning that more and more people who have good knowledge of Islamic banking will influence the increase in the decision to become a customer of Bank BSI.
