Abstract

ABSTRAK Kepala sekolah sebagai pemimpin lembaga pendidikan memiliki peranan yang krusial dalam meningkatkan kualitas dan memberdayakan sumber daya di sekolahnya. Dalam suatu lembaga pendidikan tentu yang namanya masalah pasti ada, masalah-masalah yang ada diantaranya kurangnya mutu tenaga pendidik, maka dari itu kami ingin meningkatkannya menjadi lebih baik lagi, dengan cara memberikan metode dan media yang tepat. Upaya meningkatkan sumber daya manusia di sebuah lembaga pendidikan, kepala sekolah sebagai top leader mempunyai peran penting. salah satu peranan yang dapat dilakukan melalui optimalisasi peran kepala sekolah. Adapun dari tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui peran kepala sekolah sebagai edukator, manajer dan supervisor dalam meningkatkan mutu tenaga pendidik di SMA Al Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif yang dilakukan di SMA Al�Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung. Pada tahap pengumpulan data peneli menggunakan tekhnik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Setelah data terkumpul peneliti menarik makna terhadap data yang terkumpul dan dari makna tersebut ditarik kesimpulan. Kemudian data tersebut diperiksa keabsahan data dengan mengadakan triangulasi sumber, triangulasi tekhnik dan riangulasi waktu. Hasil penelitian ini meunjukan bahwa peran kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan tenaga pendidik di SMA Al-Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung sudah terlaksana dengan baik. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari Peran kepala sekolah sebagai edukotor beliau melaksanakan peran tersebut melalui beberapa kegiatan diantaranya yaitu workshop, training of trainer, musyawara guru mata pelajaran pembinaan moral dan kepala sekolah sebagai teladan yang baik bagi warga sekolah. Peran kepala sekolah sebagai manajer beliau penyusunan struktur organisasi dan membagi tugas sesuai dengan kompentesi masing�masing serta bekerja sama dengan pihak pendidik dan non pendidik untuk menyelesaikan pekerjannya. Peran kepala sekolah sebagai supervisor dengan mengadakan beberapa kegiatan, pengawasan perangkat peembelajaran guru yang dilakukan waka kurikulum, dan pengawasan dalam kelas ketika kepala sekolah tidak di tempat. Kata Kunci : Peran Kepala Sekolah, Mutu Tenaga Pendidik iv ABSTRACT Principals as leaders of educational institutions have a crucial role in improving quality and empowering resources in their schools. In an educational institution, of course, the name of the problem must exist, the problems that exist include the lack of quality of students, therefore we want to improve it to be even better, by providing the right methods and media. Efforts to improve human resources in an educational institution, the principal as the top leader has an important role. one of the roles that can be done through optimizing the role of the principal. As a manager, the principal has the task of monitoring, mobilizing, fostering, and directing personnel performance, especially improving the professional competence of his subordinates. In achieving the quality of education, the principal is very influential in empowering educators. Principals are very instrumental in developing the ability of their personnel so that schools become educational institutions and can achieve educational goals in accordance with national education standards. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach conducted at Al-Azhar 3 High School in Bandar Lampung. In the data collection stage, the researcher used interview, observation and documentation techniques. After the data were collected, the researcher draws meaning to the collected data and from that meaning conclusions are drawn. Then the data was checked for data validity by conducting source triangulation, technical triangulation and time triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the role of the principal in improving the teaching staff at SMA Al-Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung has been well implemented. This can be seen from the role of the principal as an educator, he carries out this role through several activities including workshops, training of trainers, moral coaching subject teacher meetings and principals as good role models for school residents. The principal's role as a manager is the preparation of an organizational structure and divides tasks according to their respective competencies and cooperates with educators and non�educators to complete their work. The role of the principal as a supervisor by conducting several activities, supervision of teacher learning tools carried out by the vice principal of curriculum, and supervision in the classroom when the principal is not in place.
