Abstract

ABSTRAK HUBUNGAN ANTARA POLA ASUH OTORITER DENGAN KEMAMPUAN REGULASI EMOSI PADA REMAJA AWAL Oleh: M I R Z A Regulasi emosi merupakan suatu proses yang dilakukan seseorang untuk menghambat, memulai, memodifikasi, mengontrol, serta mengevaluasi emosi yang dimiliki sehingga mempengaruhi perilaku, perasaan serta respon fisiologis sebagai reaksi terhadap emosi yang dialami. Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan regulasi emosi adalah pola asuh otoriter. Pola asuh otoriter adalah pola asuh yang diterapkan orangtua dengan cara memberikan batasan, tuntutan, dan hukuman untuk anak agar senantiasa menuruti perintah-perintah orangtua tanpa mempertimbangkan pendapat dan keinginan anak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara pola asuh otoriter dengan kemampuan regulasi emosi pada remaja awal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan sampel sebanyak 70 siswa kelas 8 SMP yang diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan skala pola asuh otoriter (α = 0.851) dan skala regulasi emosi (α = 0.883). Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis korelasi product moment dengan bantuan software JASP for windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai r = -0,813 dengan p < 0,001, artinya ada hubungan yang negatif signifikan antara pola asuh otoriter dengan kemampuan regulasi emosi pada remaja awal dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 66%. Kata kunci : Regulasi Emosi, Pola Asuh Otoriter, Remaja awal.ABSTRACT THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN AUTHORITARIAN PARENTING WITH EMOTIONAL REGULATION TO EARLY ADOLESCENTS By: M I R Z A Emotion regulation is a process carried out by a person to inhibit, initiate, modify, control, and evaluate one's emotions so as to influence behavior, feelings and physiological responses as a reaction to the emotions experienced. One of the factors that affect an ability of emotional regulation is authoritarian parenting. Authoritarian parenting style is parenting style applied by parents by providing limits, demands, and punishments for children so that they always obey parental orders without considering the child's opinions and wishes. The aim of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between authoritarian parenting and the ability of emotional regulation in early adolescents. This study used quantitative research methods with a sample of 70 grade 8 students of SMP who were taken by a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used the authoritarian parenting scale (α = 0.851) and the emotional regulation scale (α = 0.883). The data analysis technique used in this study is the product moment correlation analysis with the help of JASP for windows software. The results showed that the value of r = -0.813 with p <0.001, meaning that there is a significant negative relationship between authoritarian parenting and the ability of emotional regulation in early adolescents with an effective contribution of 66%.
