Abstract

ABSTRACT The relationship between self-confidence and social acceptance with assertive behavior in overseas students By : Astuti Puspita Sari Overseas students must be able to adjust to the new cultural environment around them, namely by behaving assertively so that their desires and feelings can be fulfilled and not easily taken advantage of by others. Confidence and social acceptance is one of the factors that influence individuals in assertive behavior. This study aims to identify the relationship between self-confidence and social acceptance with assertive behavior in overseas students. The population in this study were overseas students at the Department of Agricultural Technology, Lampung State Polytechnic. This research is a type of quantitative research. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling and involved 64 respondents. Collecting data using an assertive behavior scale measuring 22 aitem (α=0.839), 20 aitem self-confidence scale (α=0.843), and 18 aitem social acceptance scale (α=0.809). The data analysis technique used is multiple regression analysis with the help of JASP 0.16.1.0 software The results of the study show that the first hypothesis is that there is a relationship between self-confidence and social acceptance with assertive behavior in overseas students with a value of R = 0.732 while the value of F = 34,996 with a significance level of > 0.001. The results of the second hypothesis test on the confidence variable with a value of rx1-y = 0.729 with p> 0.001, and an effective contribution of 51%. So there is a relationship between self-confidence and assertive behavior. The results of the third hypothesis test on the variable social acceptance with a value of rx2-y = 0.399 with a p> 0.001, and an effective contribution of 2.4%. So there is a relationship between social acceptance and assertive behavior. Keywords: Assertive behavior, self-confidence, social acceptance. Hubungan Antara Kepercayaan Diri dan Penerimaan Sosial Dengan Perilaku Asertif Pada Mahasiswa Perantau Oleh : Astuti Puspita Sari Mahasiswa perantau harus mampu menyesuaikan dirinya dengan keadaan lingkungan budaya yang baru disekitarnya, yaitu bisa dengan berperilaku asertif agar keinginan dan perasaan nya dapat terpenuhi dan tidak mudah dimanfaatkan oleh orang lain. Kepercayaan diri dan penerimaan sosial merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi individu dalam berperilaku asertif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengenalisis hubungan kepercayaan diri dan penerimaan sosial dengan perilaku asertif pada mahasiswa perantau. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa perantau di Jurusan Teknologi Pertanian, Politeknik Negeri Lampung. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling dan melibatkan 64 responden. Pengumpulan data dengan alat ukur skala perilaku asertif 22 aitem (α=0.839), skala kepercayaan diri 20 aitem (α=0.843), dan skala penerimaan sosial 18 aitem (α=0.809). Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi berganda dengan bantuan software JASP 0.16.1.0 Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis pertama ada hubungan antara kepercayaan diri dan penerimaan sosial dengan perilaku asertif pada mahasiswa perantau dengan nilai R = 0.732 Sementara nilai F=34.996 dengan taraf signifikansi > 0.001. Hasil uji hipotesis kedua pada variabel kepercayaan diri dengan nilai rx1- y=0.729 dengan p> 0.001, dan sumbangan efektif 51%. Sehingga ada hubungan antara kepercayaan diri dengan perilaku asertif. Hasil uji hipotesis ketiga pada varisabel penerimaan sosial dengan nilai rx2-y = 0.399 dengan nilai p> 0.001, dan sumbangan efektif sebesar 2.4%. Sehingga terdapat hubungan antara penerimaan sosial dengan perilaku asertif. Kata kunci : Perilaku asertif, kepercayaan diri, penerimaan sosial.
