Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh permasalahan yang peneliti temukan di SD Negeri Perumnas Way Kandis yaitu rendahnya pemahaman konsep peserta didik dalam pembelajaran Matematika. Permasalahan tersebut peneliti ketahui berdasarkan hasil pra�penelitian yang dilakukan peneliti di lapangan. Pada saat proses pembelajaran Matematika peserta didik kurang terlibat aktif dalam mengkontruksi sendiri pengetahuannya untuk memahami konsep�konsep yang dipelajari dan pendidik masih kurang optimalnya variasi dalam penggunaan metode pembelajaran serta masih mendominasi semua kegiatan pembelajaran sehingga mengakibatkan rendahnya pemahaman konsep pada peserta didik. Peneliti dalam hal ini menggunakan metode pembelajaran tutor sebaya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan metode pembelajaran tutor sebaya terhadap pemahaman konsep belajar matematika pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri Perumnas Way Kandis. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu quasy experimental design dengan desain pretest-posttest control grup design. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik yang dibagi menjadi dua kelas yaitu kelas VA yang dijadikan sebagai kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah perserta didik dan kelas VB yang dijadikan kelas kontrol yang berjumlah peserta didik. Instumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi aktivitas peneliti selama proses pembelajaran dengan menerapkan metode pembelajaran tutor sebaya dan tes pre-test post-test kepada siswa di kedua kelas. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data yang diperoleh dari hasil uji hipotesis yang telah dilakukan pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol maka didapatkan nilai Sig = , < α = yang berarti H ditolak H diterima. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji hipotesis tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif penggunaan metode pembelajaran tutor sebaya terhadap pemahaman konsep belajar matematika dibandingkan dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional pada siswa kelas V SD Negeri Perumnas Way Kandis. Kata Kunci : Metode Pembelajaran Tutor Sebaya, Pemahaman Konsep, Matematika. iv ABSTRACT This research is motivated by a problem that researchers found at SD Negeri Perumnas Way Kandis, namely the low understanding of students' concepts in learning Mathematics. These problems researchers know based on the results of pre-research conducted by researchers in the field. During the mathematics learning process students are less actively involved in constructing their own knowledge to understand the concepts being studied and educators are still not optimal in the use of learning methods and still dominate all learning activities resulting in low understanding of concepts in students. Researchers in this case use the peer tutor learning method. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using peer tutoring methods on understanding the concept of learning mathematics in fifth grade students at SD Negeri Perumnas Way Kandis. This research method uses quantitative research. The type of research used is a quasy experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample in this study were students who were divided into two classes, namely the VA class which was used as the experimental class which consisted of students and the VB class which was used as the control class which consisted of students. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets of researcher activity during the learning process by applying peer tutoring methods and pre-test post-test to students in both classes. Based on the results of the analysis of the data obtained from the results of the hypothesis testing that was carried out in the experimental class and the control class, the value Sig = <α = which means that H is rejected H is accepted. Based on the results of the calculation of the hypothesis test, it can be concluded that there is a positive influence on the use of peer tutoring methods on understanding the concept of learning mathematics compared to using conventional learning methods for fifth grade students at SD Negeri Perumnas Way Kandis.
