Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi kepala madrasah dalam pembinaan karakter siswa di MTsN 1 Bandar Lampung. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskripsi analisis melalui penelitian lapangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan tekhnik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, dokumentasi dan observasi. Data primer diperoleh langsung dari responden sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh dari literatur dan penelitian terdahulu berupa teori�teori. Semua data tersebut merupakan bahan-bahan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi kepala madrasah dalam pembinaan karakter siswa di MTsN 1 Bandar Lampung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi kepala madrasah dalam pembinaan karakter siswa melalui 1) Keteladanan yaitu tidak hanya dalam bentuk keilmuan, akan tetapi meliputi aspek-aspek lain seperti kedisiplinan, kejujuran, tanggung jawab, semangat untuk mengisi kegiatan keagamaan dan saling menghargai antara guru dan siswa, 2) Pembiasaan kegiatan seperti kegiatan pembiasaan beribadah, baca Al�Qur’an, mengerjakan shalat dzuhur berjamaah, shalat dhuha berjamaah, sholawat bersama setiap jum’at dan lain sebagainya, 3) Pengawasan melalui pengarahan kepada guru, mengecek fasilitas madrasah yang menunjang proses pembinaan karakter, berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan pembinaan karakter, mengamati guru-guru ketika mengajar dan mengevaluasi program kegiatan tersebut, 4) Kerjasama yaitu pihak madrasah melakukan kerja sama dengan pihak luar dalam proses pembinaan karakter siswa seperti dengan orang tua siswa bahkan lembaga terkait seperti kapolsek dan koramil. Kata kunci: Strategi, Kepala Madrasah, Karakter Siswa iv ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the principal's strategy in coaching character of students at MTsN 1 Bandar Lampung. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive analysis method through field research This research uses data collection techniques in the form of interviews, documentation and observation. Primary data is obtained directly from respondents, while secondary data is obtained from literature and previous research in the form of theories is material to describe the principal's strategy in coaching the character of students at MTsN I Bandar Lampung. The results show that the principal's strategy in fostering student character is through 1) Exemplary that is not only in the form of scholarship, but includes other aspects such as discipline, honesty, responsibility, enthusiasm for envying religious activities and mutual respect between teachers and students. 2) Habituation of activities such as worship habituation activities, reading the Qur'an, doing the druhur prayer in congregation, dhuha prayer in congregation, praying together every Friday and so on, 3) Supervision through guidance to teachers, checking school facilities that support the character building process participating in activities character building observing teachers when teaching and evaluating the program of activities 4) Cooperation, namely the school cooperates with outside parties in the process of fostering student character such as with parents, the community, and even related institutions such as the police chief and Koramil.
