Abstract

ABSTRAK Kemampuan Membaca permulaan merupakan membaca dalam teori keterampilan, maksudnya menekankan pada proses aktivitas membaca. Membaca permulaan yang menjadi acuan adalah membaca merupakan proses recording dan decoding. Pada saat peneliti observasi dilapangan, peneliti menemukan bahwa proses belajar mengajar di SDN 5 Merak Batin dan MIN 1 Pesawaran masih didominasi oleh guru. Sering ditemukan dilapangan banyak peserta didik yang tidak memiliki kemampuan dalam membaca, peserta didik kurang percaya diri dan kurang fokus dikarenakan pembelajaran hanya berfokus pada guru. Kurangnya penggunaan media pembelajaran saat proses pembelajaran juga turut berpengaruh pada kemampuan peserta didik. Media sebagai bagian yang sangat melekat dan tak terpisahkan dari suatu proses pembelajaran untuk menapai tujuan dari pada pembelajaran tersebut,media berfungsi dan berperan mengatur hubungan efektif guru dan juga peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran pop-up book, untuk menganalisis kelayakkan media pembelajaran pop-up book yang dikembangkan, dan untuk mengetahui respon peserta didik dan tenaga pendidik terhadap media pembelajaran pop-up book yang dikembangkan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah R&D dengan prosedural peneltian dan pengembangan dari Borg and Gall yang telah dimodifikasi oleh Sugiyono. Penilaian kelayakan media menggunakan skala Likert dan penilaian respon peserta didik menggunakan skala Guttman. Berdasarkan analisis data penilaian ahli media sebesar 92,1% dan 97,3% dalam kategori “Sangat Layak”; penilaian ahli materi sebesar 96,6% dikategorikan “Sangat Layak”; penilaian ahli bahasa sebesar 80% dan 84,4% dikategorikan “Layak”; penilaian respon peserta didik di SDN 5 Merak Batin sebesar 100% dikategorikan “Sangat Baik” dan di MIN 1 Pesawaran sebesar 96% dikategorikan “Sangat Baik”; serta penilaian respon tenaga pendidik di kedua sekolah sebesar 91% dikategorikan “Sangat Baik”. Sehingga pop-up book untuk membaca permulaan memenuhi kriteria untuk digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran. Kata kunci: Media Pembelajaran, Pop-Up Book, Kemampuan Membaca Permulaan. ABSTRACT Beginning Reading Ability is reading in skill theory, meaning that it emphasizes the process of reading activity. Reading the beginning which is the reference is reading is a process of recording and decoding. When researchers observed in the field, researchers found that the teaching and learning process at SDN 5 Merak Batin and MIN 1 Pesawaran was still dominated by teachers. It is often found in the field that many students do not have the ability to read, students lack confidence and are less focused because learning only focuses on the teacher. The lack of use of learning media during the learning process also influences the abilities of students. Media as a very attached and inseparable part of a learning process to achieve the goals of the learning, the media functions and plays a role in regulating the effective relationship of teachers and students in the learning process. This study aims to develop pop-up book instructional media, to analyze the feasibility of the developed pop-up book learning media, and to determine the responses of students and educators to the developed pop-up book learning media. The type of research used is R&D with procedural research and development from Borg and Gall which has been modified by Sugiyono. Assessment of the appropriateness of the media using the Likert scale and assessing student responses using the Guttman scale. Based on the analysis of media expert assessment data of 92.1% and 97.3% in the "Very Eligible" category; material expert's assessment of 96.6% is categorized as "Very Eligible"; the assessment of linguists is 80% and 84.4% is categorized as "Appropriate"; assessment of student response at SDN 5 Merak Batin by 100% categorized as "Very Good" and at MIN 1 Pesawaran by 96% categorized as "Very Good"; as well as the assessment of the response of the teaching staff in the two schools by 91% in the "Very Good" category. So that the pop-up book for beginning reading meets the criteria for use as a learning medium. Keywords: Learning Media, Pop-Up Book, Beginning Reading Ability.
