Abstract

ABSTRACT TEACHING AND LEARNING WRITING RECOUNT TEXT BY USING FLIPPED CLASSROOM AT THE SECOND SEMESTER OF THE TENTH GRADE OF SMAN 15 BANDAR LAMPUNG IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR OF 2022/2023 BY: JUMIATI AMALIA This research was about teaching and learning writing recount text by using flipped classroom to the second semester of the tenth grade of SMAN 15 Bandar Lampung in the academic year of 2022/2023. The objectives of the research were to know the teaching and learning writing recount text by using flipped classroom, to know the teacher‟s problem in teaching writing recount text by using flipped classroom, and to know the students‟ problem in learning writing recount text by using flipped classroom. This research was qualitative research. The researcher used purposive sampling technique to determine the sample. The researcher chose class X IPS 2 as the sample because that class had the lowest score than another class. The data were gained by doing observation, interviewing the teacher, and giving questionnaire to the students. The researcher used three major phases of the data analysis, they were: data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing verification. After analyzing the data, there were three points of the result. The first, there were some points in teaching writing descriptive text by using flipped classroom that were skipped by the teacher. It could be seen from process in writing activity : Students ask questions about the previous night‟s video and The teacher asks to make a summarize about the previous night‟s video. The second, the problems faced by the teacher were the teacher difficulty with the topics in textbook are not attractive, time management, the higher number of students, and the problem with the students that not master the previous knowledge.. Third, the problems by the students were students had problem in style in writing recount text, completing result of writing and also iii organizing, arranging, and matching the all paragraphs when it shoud be combined in one text.
