Abstract

ABSTRAK Kemampuan penalaran logis matematis dan adversity quotient dalam pembelajaran matematika perlu dikuasai oleh setiap peserta didik guna menunjang peserta didik dalam proses belajar dan menyelesaikan berbagai permasalahan matematika. Penelitian ini telah dilakukan di SMP N 1 Kotaagung Timur Tanggamus. Berdasarkan pra penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan penalaran logis matematis dan adversity quotient peserta didik SMP N 1 Kotaagung Timur masih tergolong rendah. Penulis tertarik untuk menerapkan metode pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penalaran logis matematis dan adversity quotient peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode Discovery Learning terhadap kemampuan penalaran logis matematis dan adversity quotient ditinjau dari gaya kognitif peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian Quasy Eksperimen Design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas IX di SMP N 1 Kotaagung Timur. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik cluster random sampling. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah perpangkatan dan bentuk akar. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah tes kemampuan penalaran logis matematis berupa soal uraian, angket adversity quotient, dan tes GEFT. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini adalah MANOVA dua jalan dengan sel tak sama dengan taraf signifikansi yang dipakai yaitu 0,05 dan diperoleh kesimpulan (1) terdapat pengaruh metode discovery learning dan ekspositori terhadap kemampuan penalaran logis matematis dan adversity quotient. (2) terdapat pengaruh kategori gaya kognitif field dependent dan field independent terhadap kemampuan penalaran logis matematis dan adversity quotient. (3) tidak terdapat interaksi antara faktor metode pembelajaran dan gaya kognitif terhadap kemampuan penalaran logis matematis dan adversity quotient. Kata Kunci : Discovery Learning, Kemampuan Penalaran Logis Matematis, Adversity Quotient, Gaya Kognitif. iv ABSTRACT Mathematical logical reasoning abilities and adversity quotient in mathematics learning need to be mastered by each student in order to support students in the learning process and solve various mathematical problems. This research was conducted at SMP N 1 Kotaagung Timur Tanggamus. Based on the pre-research, it shows that the ability of mathematical logical reasoning and the adversity quotient of SMP N 1 Kotaagung Timur students is still relatively low. The author is interested in applying learning methods that can improve students' logical mathematical reasoning abilities and adversity quotient . This study aims to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning method on mathematical logical reasoning abilities and adversity quotient in terms of students' cognitive styles. This research is a type of Quasy Experiment Design research . The subjects of this research were class IX students at SMP N 1 Kotaagung Timur. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling technique . The materials used in this study are exponential and root forms. The instruments used to collect data were tests of mathematical logical reasoning abilities in the form of description questions, adversity quotient questionnaires , and the GEFT test. The data analysis technique in this study was a two-way MANOVA with different cells with a significance level of 0.05 and it was concluded that (1) there is an effect discovery l earnings and expository methods _ _ to mathematical logical reasoning ability and adversity quotient . (2) there is influence category field dependent and field independent cognitive styles on mathematical logical reasoning abilities and adversity quotient. (3) there is no interaction between learning method and cognitive style factors on mathematical logical reasoning ability and adversity quotient .
