Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted at Tanjung Bintang 2 Public Middle School with the aim of knowing (1) there were differences in students' metacognitive abilities between classes using the RADEC learning model and classes using conventional (expository) models. (2) there are differences in the metacognitive abilities of students who use the RADEC learning model for students who have auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learning styles (3) there is an interaction between the factors of the RADEC learning model and learning styles on students' metacognitive abilities. This research is an experimental research. This type of research uses Quasi Experiment Design. The collection of research data was obtained from tests of metacognitive abilities and questionnaires on student learning styles. This research was conducted on class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Tanjung Bintang with a total of 60 students who were selected through the cluster random sampling technique, namely taking samples from the population in a random class. Based on the hypothesis test through two-way ANOVA obtained (1) sig value <0.05 so that H_0A is rejected which means there is a difference between students who are given the RADEC learning model and students who are given conventional (expository) learning models on metacognitive abilities, (2) sig value <0.05 so that H_0B is rejected which means there are differences in the categories of auditory, visual and kinesthetic learning styles on metacognitive abilities, (3) sig value> 0.05 so H_0AB is accepted which means there is no interaction between the RADEC learning model and learning styles on students' metacognitive abilities.
