Abstract

ABSTRAK Kepala sekolah sebagai pemimpin tertinggi di sekolah yang memiliki peran penting dalam mengembangkan profesionalisme guru di suatu sekolah, tercapai atau tidaknya guru yang professional tergantung bagaimana kepala sekolah dalam melaksanakan tugasnya. Guru merupakan tenaga pendidikan professional yang menentukan keberhasilan pendidikan melalui kinerjanya di suatu lembaga pendidikan. Kepala sekolah belum maksimal dalam menjalankan perannya sebagai educator, supervisi dan motivator. Guru-guru di TK RAMA masih ada beberapa guru yang belum maksimal terkait penggunaan metode dan pemanfaataan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi untuk mengembangkan diri. Disamping itu dalam meningkatkan kompetensi professional guru tak luput dari peran kepala sekolah dalam membantu untuk meningkatkannya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kompetensi profesionalisme guru di TK RAMA Gisting. Metode penelitian yang digunakan peneliti adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif. Adapun informan dalam penelitian yaitu kepala sekolah dan tiga guru kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Dalam menganalisis data penulis menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan menarik kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian ditemukan peran kepala taman kanak-kanak dalam meningkatkan kompetensi professional sudah terlaksana walaupun ada beberapa indikator yang kurang maksimal yaitu perannya sebagai educator kepala sekolah kurang membimbing guru dalam membuat rpp, perannya sebagai supervisi kurang maksimal dalam kunjungan kelas dan perannya sebagai motivator tidak memberikan penghargaan. Sedangkan kompetensi profesionali sudah baik tetapi belum dikatakan optimal karena guru belum maksimal terkait penggunaan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi dalam mengembangkan diri. ABSTRACT The principal as the highest leader in a school has an important role in developing teacher professionalism in a school, whether or not a professional teacher is achieved depends on how the principal carries out his duties. Teachers are professional education personnel who determine the success of education through their performance in an educational institution. The school principal has not been maximal in carrying out his role as educator, supervisor and motivator. There are still a number of teachers at RAMA Kindergarten who are not optimal in terms of the use of information and communication technology and methods for self-development. Besides that, in improving the professional competence of teachers, the role of the principal in helping to improve it cannot be separated. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of the principal in increasing the professional competence of teachers at RAMA Gisting Kindergarten. The research method used by researchers is descriptive qualitative method. The informants in the study were the principal and three class teachers. Data collection techniques in this study are by interview, observation, and documentation. In analyzing the data the writer uses data reduction, data presentation, and draws conclusions. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the role of the head of the kindergarten in improving professional competence had been carried out, although there were several indicators that were not optimal, namely his role as an educator, the head of the school did not guide the teacher in making lesson plans, his role as supervisor was not optimal in class visits and his role as a motivator was not award. While professional competence is good but not yet optimal because teachers are not maximal in terms of using information and communication technology in self-development.
