Abstract

ABSTRAK Skripsi merupakan tugas akhir yang dijadikan sebagai prasyarat kelulusan bagi mahasiswa yang menempuh pendidikan perguruan tinggi dijenjang Strata Satu (S1). Mahasiswa mempunyai kewajiban untuk menyelesaiakan tugas akhir disetiap program studi yang ditempuh. Tugas akhir skripsi ini berupa suatu karya ilmiah berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan atau penelitian. Proses pencapaian penyelesaian tugas akhir skripsi tidaklah mudah, banyak mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan dalam penulisan penelitian skripsi. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara kepada pihak Prodi Pendidikaan Biologi diketahui bahwa adanya mahasiswa yang belum lulus tepat waktu pada semester VIII pada angkatan 2017 berjumlah 43 mahasiswa, sedangkan pada angkatan 2018 dengan mahasiswa yang berjumlah 259 mahasiswa, disemester VIII tercatat masih ada 201 mahasiswa aktif. Tujuan dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui kesulitan mahasiswa dalam penyelesaian tugas akhir skripsi dan mengetahui faktor yang menyebabkan kesulitan tersebut. Penelitian ini berjenis kualitatif deskripsif yang dilaksanakan pada bulan juli�agustus 2022 di Prodi Pendidikan Biologi angkatan 2017 dan 2018. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan instrument wawancara melakukan observasi, serta dokumentasi dan menggunakan metode triangulasi sumber terhadap dosen pembimbing dan teman sebaya. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan analisis data hasil wawancara mahasiswa yang mengalami kesulitan disebabkan oleh faktor internal dan faktor eksternal pada mahasiswa itu sendiri. Hasil penelitian kesulitan mahasiswa disebabkan rendahnya kemampuan dalam menulis karya tulis ilmiah yaitu kesulitan dalam menentukan judul, mendeskripsikan latar belakang masalah, dan kesulitan menganalisis data. Faktor yang paling mempengaruhi lamanya penyelesaian tugas akhir skripsi pada mahasiswa yaitu kualitas bimbingan skripsi yang jarang dilakukan. Hal tersebut disebabkan karena kebanyakan mahasiswa membutuhkan banyak waktu untuk menyelesaikan revisi dari dosen pembimbing dan kembali lagi melakukan bimbingan. Students have an obligation to complete their final project in each study program they take. The final task of this thesis is in the form of a scientific work based on the results of implementation or research. The process of achieving the completion of thesis thesis is not easy, many students experience difficulties in writing thesis research. Based on the results of observations and interviews with the Biology Education Study Program, it was found that there were 43 students who had not graduated on time in the VIII semester of 2017, while in the 2018 class with 259 students, in the VIII semester there were still 201 active students. The purpose of this research is to find out the difficulties of students in completing the final thesis assignment and to find out the factors that cause these difficulties. This research is of a descriptive qualitative type which was carried out in July-August 2022 in the Biology Education Study Program class of 2017 and 2018. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique with interview instruments to conduct observations, as well as documentation and use the source triangulation method of supervisors and peers. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the analysis of data from interviews with students who have difficulty completing the final thesis due to internal factors and external factors to the students themselves. The results of the research on students' difficulties were caused by their low ability to write scientific papers, namely difficulties in determining titles, describing the background of the problem, and difficulty analyzing data. The factor that most influences the length of completion of the final thesis assignment for students is the quality of thesis guidance which is rarely done. This is because most students need a lot of time to complete revisions from their supervisors and return to guidance. Keywords: Final Project, Student, Difficulty
