Abstract

ABSTRAK Gaya belajar merupakan cara yang lebih kita sukai dan merasa paling efektif dan efisien dalam melakukan kegiatan berfikir, memproses, dan mengerti suatu informasi. Berdasarkan dari permasalahan yang ditemukan, sangat penting untuk mengetahui gaya belajar siswa karena siswa memiliki kecenderungan pada gaya belajar untuk mengelola informasi yang diberikan dengan cepat dan mudah dipahami. Setiap siswa berbeda-beda dan mereka belajar dengan cara yang benar-benar berbeda. Hal ini memiliki efek besar pada tingkat pencapaian (prestasi) dan kepercayaan diri mereka. Dalam pelaksanaan proses belajar mengajar dalam penyampaian materi harus menggunakan berbagai gaya, yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gaya belajar siswa berprestasi pada saat pembelajaran berlangsung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Informan dalam penelitian ini ialah siswa berprestasi di kelas V yang berjumlah 3 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan trianggulasi. Serta dalam menganalisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model Milles dan Hubberman yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa berprestasi di kelas V SDN 2 padang cahya menunjukkan kombinasi gaya belajar VAK, (visual, auditori dan kinestetik). Kecenderungan gaya belajar VAK antar siswa berprestasi berbeda-beda. Dari tiga siswa berprestasi terdapat dua kecenderungan yaitu gaya belajar visual dan auditorial. Satu siswa berprestasi yang cenderung menggunakan gaya belajar auditorii dengan porsi auditori > visual > kinestetik, sedangkan yang lain cenderung pada gaya belajar visual. Tiga siswa berprestasi yang cenderung pada gaya belajar visual dengan porsi visual > auditori > kinestetik. Kata Kunci : Gaya Belajar, Siswa Berprestasi iv ABSTRACT Learning style is our preferred way of learning which we feel the most effective and efficient way in thinking, processing, and comprehending information. Based on the identification of problem, it is very important to identify the student’s learning style since each student has the tendency on learning style to process the given information quickly and easily understand it. Every student is different and they learn through completely different way. It has big impact on student’s achievement level and their self-confidence. In conducting teaching and learning process in delivering learning materials, there should be the application of various learning style that appropriate with the students’ needs. This research aimed to find out the learning style of outstanding students during teaching and learning process. The research method applied in this research was qualitative method through descriptive qualitative approach. The informants in this research were 3 outstanding fifth grade students. The data collection technique was carried out by means of observation, interview, documentation, and triangulation. Moreover, data of this research was analyzed by using Miles and Huberman data analysis model, namely data reduction, data display and verification. The result of this study reveals that the outstanding students in grade V of SDN 2 Padang Cahya show the combination of VAK (Visual, Auditory and Kinesthetic) learning style. There is diversity on the tendency of VAK learning style among the outstanding students. From three outstanding students, there are two tendencies that lies on visual and auditory learning style. One outstanding student tends to use the auditory learning style with auditory portion auditory > visual > kinesthetic, whereas the other students tend to use the visual learning style. Two outstanding students has the tendency on visual learning style with visual portion visual > auditory > kinesthetic. Keywords: Learning Style, Outstanding Students
