Abstract

ABSTRACT Ethnomedicine is a study of local people's perceptions and conceptions in understanding health or studies that study traditional ethnic medical systems. The results of initial observations, obtained information that the people of the Kaur Tribe still utilize the use of plants as medicinal ingredients. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the types, parts of plants, and how to use medicinal plants used by the people of the Kaur tribe in traditional medicine in Kaur Regency. This research is a type of qualitative research with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The data collected are plant species, plant parts, processing methods and how to use them as traditional medicine. The determination of informants by using purposive sampling technique and snowball sampling. The research data were analyzed descriptively and the validity of the data was tested using source, time and technique triangulation. The results showed that there were 45 species of plants that were used as traditional medicine by the Kaur people in the Fixed District. The parts used in traditional medicine by the Kaur tribe are leaves, bark, fruit, rhizomes, roots, stems and sap. Ways of processing plants as medicine include boiling, squeezing, pounding, grating, smearing, heating and how to use plants as medicine, namely by drinking, sticking, bathing, smearing, dripping, biting and smearing. The rules for using plants in the traditional medicine of the Kaur tribe are when sick, 3 times a day, and 2 times a day. The dosages for the use of plants as medicine are sheet, handheld, fruit and drops, with time of use when sick, < 1 week and 1 week. Keyword: Ethnomedicine, Kaur Tribe, Traditional Medicine.
