Abstract

ABSTRACT THE INFLUENCE OF USING MIND MAPPING TECHNIQUE TOWARDS STUDENTS’ READING ABILITY AT THE TENTH GRADE OF MA BANII SAALIM BANDAR LAMPUNG IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2021/2022 By: Ahmad Za’Iman The objective of this research was to know whether there the influence of using mind mapping technique towards students‟ reading ability at the tenth grade of MA Banii Saalim Bandar Lampung in the academic year 2021/2022 The research methodology used quasi experimental design. The population of the research was the students of the tenth grade of MA Banii Saalim bandar Lampung consisted of 38 student. The sample was chosen by doing cluster random sampling The sample was taken from one classes, experimental class which consisted of 38 students. In collecting data, the writer used the instrument of pre-test and post�test. Pre-test was conducted before the treatment and post-test was conducted after the treatment that was done only to the experimental class while the control is taught of using lecturing technique. In this case, the instrument was writing test. After giving the pre-test and post-test, the researcher analyzed the data using SPSS Statistic 17.0 to analyzed the data. After analyzing the data used independent sample test, it was found that the result of Sig.(2-tailed) of the equal variance assumed was 0.002. The result then was consulted to the level of significance. In this case, the level of significance was 0.05. From the analysis, the score of Sig.(2-tailed) or Sig.(pvalue) was lower than α=0.05 so Howas rejected. In other words, it could be concluded that there was influence of using mind mapping technique toward the students‟ reading ability at the thent grade of MA Banii Saalim Bandar Lampung Keywords: Mind mapping Technique, Descriptive Paragraph,Quasi Experimental Design.
