Abstract

ABSTRACT THE APPLICATION OF K. H AHMAD DAHLAN'S THINKING ABOUT EDUCATION IN MUHAMMADIYAH SCHOOL, PESAWARAN REGENCY In the guidelines for Muhammadiyah central leadership article 13 Number 01/Ped/I.0/B/2018 concerning Muhammadiyah Primary and Secondary Education, it is explained that the concept of education in Muhammadiyah, which was pioneered by K.H Ahmad Dahlan, applies holistic education. Education that combines general and religious disciplines in one curriculum. Education that will produce students who are not only superior in general knowledge but accompanied by religious knowledge. The purpose of this study was to determine the thoughts of K.H Ahmad Dahlan about education and its application in Muhammadiyah schools in Pesawaran Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with this type of research using descriptive qualitative. Data collected through interviews with sources of information, observations, and documentation. In this study, the authors found the main points of K.H Dahlan's thoughts on education including the reconstruction of the meaning of educational goals, adopting a modern education system, and using learning methods. The basic thought of K.H Dahlan about education is the essence of K.H Ahmad Dahlan's 7 philosophies of thought, love, and applying the values of the Qur'an with the spirit of Al Ma'un. Meanwhile, the application of K.H Ahmad Dahlan's thoughts on educational goals has 3 things, namely being pious in religious knowledge, broad�minded by having general knowledge, and being solemn to Muhammadiyah and society. The second application to the education system is seen in the integration of knowledge applied in Muhammadiyah schools. And the third application of the learning method is the use of several methods such as proportionality between theory and practice, qudwah or role models, and habituation. Of the three thoughts of K. H Ahmad Dahlan which were developed by Muhammadiyah schools, basically in order to build a Muslim personality with character (Character Building).
