Abstract

ABSTRACT Communicating with other people is our daily routine. In communicating, of course, we use language in the delivery. One of the studies that discussees verbal communication is sociolinguistics. The researcher chose this film as data because it tells about some of language style by the speakers in their daily conversations with each other. Language style is one of important that we need to know all about it. When we are able to verbal exchange with people that we should language style that we use because different situation and interlocutors will influence language style. The purpose of this study to know the type of language style used in Front of The class Movie and to know the dominant type of language style used in Front of The Class Movie. For teaching and learning process language style very important to learn for students because when interacting in different environments that have to adjust their language style. Especially in the world of education and during the learning process in class, so that there are no misunderstanding between fellow students and with the teacher. The research used descriptive qualititave to analyzed the data. Qualitative research is interpretative approach that cause get precise that means and behaviour experience in social phenomena. The qualitative research is social inquiry that focuses a way to interpret of the humans recognize approximately their experience and the word that they use in life. The resul of this study indicate that there are 4 types of language style in Front of The Class Movie. There are formal style 12 data, intimate style 17 data, consultative style 6 data, casual style 8 data, frozen style 0 daya. And types of the style happens dominantly in the movie is intimate style which represents 17 data. Keywords :Front of The Class Movie, Language Style, Sociolinguistics.
