Abstract

ABSTRAK Hari kiamat adalah salah satu bagian dari kajian eskatologi karena diyakini akan terjadi di masa depan atau akhir waktu sebagai hari kehancuran dunia. Eskatologi adalah ilmu atau pengetahuan tentang akhir zaman atau hal-hal akhir. Agama Islam dan Katolik memberikan penjelasan mengenai kajian eskatologi khususnya tentang hari kiamat. Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui eskatologi dalam agama Islam dan Katolik khususnya tentang tanda�tanda hari kiamat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis library research (penelitian pustaka). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi. Data yang telah dikumpulkan kemudian dikomparasikan untuk mendapatkan bagian-bagian yang menjadi persamaan dan perbedaan tanda-tanda hari kiamat dalam Islam dan Katolik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa eskatologi Islam dan Katolik terdapat beberapa persamaan dan perbedaan tentang tanda�tanda hari kiamat. Beberapa persamaan dan perbedaan tersebut adalah tentang iman kepada hari kiamat, nama-nama hari kiamat, waktu terjadinya hari kiamat dan tanda-tanda hari kiamat. Kata kunci: Eskatologi, Islam, Katolik. iv ABSTRACT Doomsday is one of part of the study of eschatology because it is believed to occur in the future or the end of time as the day of world destruction. Eschatology is the science or knowledge of the end times or final things. Islam and Catholicism provide an explanation of the study of eschatology, especially about doomsday. This study aims to determine eschatology in Islam and Catholicism, especially about the signs of the day of judgement. This research uses a qualitative approach with the type is library research. The data collection technique used is documentation. The data that has been collected then compared to find the similarities and differences between the signs of doomsday in Islam and Catholicism. The result of this research are showed that there are some similarities and differences Islam and Catholic eschatology regarding the signs of doomsday. Some of the similarities and differences are about faithin doomsday, the names of doomsday, the timing of doomsday, and the signs of doomsday. Keyword: Eschatology, Islam, Catholic.
