Abstract

ABSTRAK Salah satu hal yang penting dalam matematika yaitu pemahaman konsep matematis. Sumartini menyatakan bahwa kesalahan yang dilakukan peserta didik ketika menyelesaikan masalah berkaitan dengan pemahaman konsep matematis yaitu kesalahan karena ceroboh atau kurang teliti, kesalahan mentransformasi informasi dan kesalahan dalam memahami soal itu sendiri. Berdasarkan hasil pra- penelitian di SMP Negeri 4 Natar menunjukkan bahwasanya pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik masih tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik, dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran ELPSA, model pembelajaran ELPSA berbantuan media dart board math dan dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran konvensional. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu eksperimen semu (Quasi Experimental Design) dengan desain penelitian Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu seluruh peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Natar, sampel penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIIIC, VIIIA dan VIIIB. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan Uji Anova satu arah yang dilanjutkan dengan uji Scheffe. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa kelas eksperimen II memiliki rata-rata 0,57 dibandingkan kelas eksperimen I dengan rata-rata 0,37 dan kelas kontrol dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran konvensional dengan rata-rata 0,23. Berdasarkan rata- rata pemahaman konsep matematis dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran ELPSA berbantuan media dart board math lebih baik dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran ELPSA dan model pembelajaran Konvensional Kata Kunci: Model Pembelajaran ELPSA, Media Dart Board Math, Pemahaman Konsep Matematis iiABSTRACT One of the important things in mathematics is understanding mathematical concepts. This study aims to determine the improvement of students' mathematical concept understanding skills, by applying the ELPSA learning model, the ELPSA learning model assisted by the mathematics dart board media, and by applying the conventional learning model. This type of research is a quasi-experimental (Quasi Experimental Design) research design with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population in this study were all students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 4 Natar, the sample of this study was students of class VIIIC, VIIIA and VIIIB. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling technique. Hypothesis testing using one- way ANOVA test followed by the Scheffe test. Based on the research results, it is known that the experimental class II has an average of 0.57 compared to the experimental class I with an average of 0.37 and the control class by applying the conventional learning model with an average of 0.23. Based on the average understanding of mathematical concepts, it can be said that the ELPSA learning model assisted by the mathematics board media is better than the ELPSA learning model and the conventional learning model.
