Abstract

ABSTRAK Pemecahan masalah dalam pembelajaran matematika merupakan suatu kemampuan yang diperlukan untuk dikuasai oleh peserta didik sebagai penunjang dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan matematika. Berdasarkan pra penelitian menunjukan bahwa rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik SMP N 1 Abung Tinggi, hal ini ditunjukan oleh nilai hasil tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Tujuan penelitian ini mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar peserta didik yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran TAPPS dengan strategi Quick On The Draw dan metode Direct Instruction terhadap terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah ditinjau dari gaya kognitif peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif yaitu Quasi Experimental Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah SMP N 1 Abung Tinggi. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Cluster Random Sampling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji Anova dua jalan dengan sel tak sama dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05 dan diperoleh bahwa (1) ditolak, maka terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar peserta didi yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran TAPPS dengan strategi Quick On The Draw dan metode Direct Instruction terhadap terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah, (2) diterima, maka tidak terdapat perbedaan gaya kognitif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, dan (3) diterima, maka tidak terdapat interaksi metode pembelajaran TAPPS dengan strategi Quick On The Draw dan metode Direct Instruction ditinjau dari perbedaan gaya kognitif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis. ABSTRACT Problem solving in mathematics learning is an ability that is needed to be mastered by students as a support in solving mathematical problems. Based on the pre-research shows that the low ability of mathematical problem solving students of SMP N 1 Abung Tinggi, this is indicated by the value of the problem solving ability test results. The purpose of this study is to determine the differences in learning outcomes of students who use the TAPPS learning method with the Quick On The Draw strategy and the Direct Instruction method towards problem solving abilities in terms of students' cognitive styles. This research uses quantitative research, namelyQuasi Experimental Design. Population in this study SMP N 1 abung Tinggi. The sampling technique used in this study was cluster random sampling. Technique analysis the data used is Two-way ANOVA test with different cells with a significance level of 0.05 and it is found that (1) rejected. So there are differences in the learning outcomes of students who use the TAPPS learning method with the Quick On The Draw strategy and the Direct Instruction method for problem solving abilities, (2) it is accepted, so there is no difference in cognitive style on mathematical problem solving abilities, and (3) it is accepted, that there is no interaction between the TAPPS learning method with the Quick On The Draw strategy and the Direct Instruction method in terms of differences in cognitive styles on mathematical problem solving abilities.
